"good morning jeonghan, do you have any reasons for your tardiness today?"jeonah asked professionally, maintaining a work-appropriate attitude as they were at their work, "i apologize; slept through my alarms." jeonghan replied breathlessly, "i tried waking you up but you didn't answer so i thought you were already here." jeonah's mother tone was audible, the worryness was there.
"oh really? i must have been deep in my sleep then," jeonghan started to prepare for his work, fixing his collar, cleaning his desk, and draping the coat on his chair. "must be," his mother cleared her throat, "still this situation will scar your record. if it was an emergency it would've been negotiable. so let's get back to our work." she clapped her hands twice, "what's new?" the professionalism is in the air, communicating like co-workers. "a meeting on friday and this saturday we have a symposium to observe." jeonghan paused, "i'll do it." his mother smirked at what her sons have put forward, "it's intended for you tho, mine was optional." she snickered. "ma, you're the one who is giving me the activities for the next ceo of this small company, i know there's not a thing for you there." jeonghan sat on his chair, setting up his computer. "it's not me, its a suggestion of the mall council."
"has mingyu stopped by?" not wanting to talk about work, he decided to change the topic, with the computer notification bell in the background. "not yet. his father called me to ask the same thing. did something happen?" the man looked to his side, something must have happened. he sighed deeply. "i have no idea, uncle called him yesterday and that was it. he was kind of annoyed when he left but yeah that's it...let's just wait for him." he smiled lightly, ensuring his worried mother. "okay, im gonna go back to my office, call me when you're done with that proposal." she then slowly strolls her way to the door, "copy ma'am" but as she reached for the doorknob.
she stopped in her tracks and sat down in front of jeonghan, "it's killing me, what or who made you come home late last night? i saw you at the front door as i was going to fetch water." her eyes begging for him to at least tell her a bit, "maybe not here mom, its a workplace." he silently answered, "okay, but you need to tell me back home or else you cannot ask for more privacy.." his mother jested, but with a hint of seriousness.

"hey, here, let's eat," seungcheol gestured to jeonghan, as they settled on the bench of the park. "thanks for the meal," they both exclaimed before indulging in their food. it was a nice experience to have dinner outdoors, as both had been too preoccupied with their work, oblivious to the existence of peace and solitude. the chilly wind brushing against their faces only added to the cozy atmosphere.
"here, take my coat," seungcheol removed his long coat and draped it over jeonghan's shoulders as he saw him rubbing his arms due to the cold breeze. "aren't you cold?" the latter expressed his concern. "oh, i'll be fine," seungcheol nonchalantly replied. "thanks," jeonghan expressed his gratitude as he took a bite of his burger. "i should've brought some ramyeons," seungcheol murmured; the other chuckled, "this is fine already, to be honest." a brief silence followed jeonghan's words, although the ambiance of the night accompanied by the sounds of passing cars, created a sense of tranquility.
it was just as seungcheol had envisioned, a peaceful atmosphere. "how long have you known mingyu?" jeonghan inquired, desperately seeking answers. "we've been friends since our college days," seungcheol briefly smiled at him and returned his gaze to the road. "we were also friends during our college days," jeonghan's face beamed as he pointed at seungcheol, "oh, really? i actually got to know him through business since he was once acquaintance back then," seungcheol then reached on his glovebox, showed the other a candid picture of the two of him and mingyu together, after he grabbed it he hands it off to jeonghan who calmly accepted and took a picture." speaking of business, is mingyu now the sole owner of his father's company?"
