I looked for you around me,
As I hoped to see you there.
For a split second I believed,
I would find you in your chair.

I found you in my writing,
And my thoughts that I chose to share.
I found you in our family buffets,
The dish of your prawns was always there.
I found you in your fruited wines,
And the smell of Smirnoff Ice.
I found you in my playlist,
As I can hear your advice.

You are there, as I leave and return home,
My keyring shirt reminds me, that I will never walk alone.
You are there, perfectly placed in my drawers,
The touch of your t-shirt, that will forever be yours.
You are everywhere around me,
And it brings me comfort that you're free.
The love that you gave was far more,
Than a body that couldn't stay in this world anymore.
