Chapter 3 : Deciphering The Prophecy

We walked inside the Prophecy Room and I noticed that Hazard and Boots were not there, so I figured that they would just be in bed, with Dulcet watching over them.

Right now, they weren't my main concerns, I knew they were in good care anyways.

The prophecy was my main concern at that moment.

Vikus waited for us to sit down, and then handed me a scroll. When I opened it, I found the prophecy written on one side, which looked like Nerissa's writing.

Wait, that's who I forgot! Nerissa! I forgot all about her, while thinking about Luxa, the prophecy and Boots.

I made a mental note to talk to her later, because now...it was time to decipher the Prophecy.

"Go ahead, Gregor, read it," Vikus prompted me and I nodded.

So I began:

The Prophecy of Scars

The warrior has risen,

And most passed actions forgiven.

The warrior has left,

Leaving peace behind,

But be not in peace of mind,

Because time turns back,

And traitors may find,

The warrior has gained too many scars to hide.

He will come back,

While his mind turns black.

He will come back,

When scars force him off track.

Don't be merry,

Just be weary

When time turns back,

Cutters will attack.

He will come back,

When scars force him off track.

But only rejoice

When the war is sober

Because he will be

The first king over.

He will come back

When his mind turns black.

He will come back,

When scars force him off track.

"So, what do you make of this Gregor, the Overlander," questioned Vikus.

"Well, can we start at each stanza and make our way through?" I asked, sceptically.

"Of course," he replied, "read the first stanza then."

" The warrior has risen,

And most passed actions forgiven,"

"What do you make of that, Gregor?" Vikus inquired and I thought for a second, organizing my thoughts.

"Well, I think 'The warrior', refers to the last prophecy when I was the warrior," I paused for a second, "and it means that I have came back, so I'm no longer dead from when I killed myself before I left. And the forgiven part means that since you Underlanders had bonded with the rats, most passed actions you have done to each other are forgiven."

"That seems right," Ripred said, nodding to himself.

"Okay, next stanza," Vikus prompted again.

"The warrior has left,

Leaving peace behind,

But be not in peace of mind,

Because time turns back,

And traitors may find,

The warrior has gained too many scars to hide." I repeated, and began thinking. "The first two lines are about my leaving, and when I departed, I guess I left peace behind. The third line is a warning and the fourth line looks like it is telling us about something from the past, which is the warning for the third line. It tells us we might find traitors, and the last line about the scars refers to when I was in the Overland."

"Next line," said Vikus.

" He will come back,

While his mind turns black.

He will come back,

When scars force him off track."

"Okay, well now this is the repeating stanza,

"Well, I think these lines have to do with; me coming here. When my mind turns black, or whatever that means, and the guy that saw my scars, which made me come back because of everything else that went bad," I sighed.

"Next,"

" Don't be merry,

Just be weary

When time turns back,

Cutters will attack.

He will come back,

When scars force him off track." I took a deep breath in, "I think the first two lines mean that it's a warning not to be carefree and that we must be careful. The third is telling us when time goes back, the cutters will attack, which obviously isn't good. And the last two is the repeating stanza again,"

"Okay and the next is the last stanza before the final repeating one," Vikus said and I nodded in agreement.

"But only rejoice

When the war is sober

Because he will be

The first king over."

And at the last line I blushed, and looked down, trying to hide it.

"Well, these lines seem to be the only one that speaks good and seems the easiest to interpret," Vikus said, smoothly and obviously saw me blushing. "I will inform everyone what these lines mean. Well, it seems like the first two lines are telling us; to only celebrate when the war is over. And the last two seem to refer to you, Gregor, as the first king of over."

"Huh, I didn't see that coming," Ripred said, sarcastically and the room went silent.

(A.N.) Chapter three is done now, so be happy. ;D I'll have one up soon and sorry it would have been long but it seemed better as a cliff-hanger. Okay and remember to vote and comment :).
