Loneliness was a common emotion shared by most of the Decepticons. In a cause where mercy was not tolerated, and any and all kinds of emotion or affection could be seen as weakness, it was something that few Decepticon rookies could bare. The ones that could tolerate the most amount of torture and mental distress were the ones that could see fit to join the Decepticon army. The others... I don't need to explain what happens to them.

You see, I was once a common Decepticon soldier amongst the ranks. There was nothing special or impressive about me, so why bother paying any attention to my story? Well...

I was the one that revived Megatron from his seemingly impossible stasis on Earth. I was the one that faced my former teacher Starscream face to face for the Allspark. I was the one that single-handedly brought the Decepticon title back to glory.

Are you interested now? Good. So here's my story.

2007

Crash!!

A large meteor like object struck the earth near a casino in a populated human town. Several clicks and whirs were heard from the meteor as it slowly transformed into something a little more human-like. It was 21 or 22 feet tall, or 669cm, it was completely chrome, sporting two flashing red optics and a scarred faceplate.

It's voice transmitter came on, signifying it was at least a mech cybertronian. "Lord Starscream, come in. I have arrived at this... 'Earth' planet. Why have I been sent here?" The Decepticon queried.

Lord Starscream replied in full, answering the questioning rookie. "We received a faint Decepticon signal which originated from Earth..." He began, "I need you to investigate this matter. Barricade is there now, you will assist him." He ordered calmly.

The Decepticon rookie nodded a bit. "I won't let you down, Lord Starscream." He said, switching his communicators to a different frequency, trying to get a signal from Barricade. Once he did, he immediately identified the veteran Decepticon. "Barricade, come in. Lord Starscream has ordered me to assist you on this investigation. Will you give me your coordinates?" The rookie asked calmly.

The veteran Decepticon scoffed. "Leave it to Starscream to send me a greenhorn to 'aid' me in my endeavors." He grumbled, "I didn't ask for any help, you're just gonna slow me down."

The rookie snarled and responded. "Well if you're ever Decepticon enough to overthrow Starscream, then YOU can call the shots. Until then, you're gonna have to do what he wants." He responded in defense of his prodigal teacher.

Barricade was silent for a moment. "I see... so you think you know what it means to be a Decepticon, huh? Is that what Starscream has been teaching you?" When Barricade realized that he wasn't going to get a solid answer from the rookie, he let up. "Okay fine, I'll play nice. You can start by doing a routine systems check after that long trip you had. See if you didn't get any lasting damage." After Barricade finished his monologue, the rookie's comms shut off.

The rookie sighed and did exactly that, a systems check. He recalibrated his optics, his limbs, and his targeting system. Of course, the latter took a bit of time to bring back online after getting scraped on impact from the large explosion he created. Just then, a few Autobot rookies came out from behind the building holding their weapons up in 'defense'. "We have to protect the humans from this... Decepti-creep!" The Autobot leader exclaimed.

The rookie narrowed his brow plates and got into a stance. He flicked his comms on. "Barricade, I'm surrounded by Autobots, I need assistance!" He exclaimed as he watched the Autobot drones surround him.

Barricade chuckled as he responded. "Oh I'm sure you can handle a few measly Autobots on your own. Starscream taught you all about hand to hand combat, right?" Barricade replied with a grin as he went off comms.

The rookie growled as he pounced on the Autobot leader, pounding him with major ferocity. Though all of a sudden, one of the goons pulled the rookie out and started shooting him in the abdomen relentlessly. This gave the others a chance to gang up on the rookie, kicking him into the ground.

Now, the rookie was used to being ganged up on, if his time in the low Decepticon barracks were any indication of his toughness. The rookie growled and yelled with pure unadulterated rage as he took both of the autobot's helms and smashed them into each other.

This surprised the leader as he fumbled around and tried pointing his weapon towards the lithe and deadly Decepticon rookie, but it was already too late. The other two goons had already been smashed into the ground, offline.

The leader's optics widened. "Th-The Decepticon! After him!" He pointed as two more Autobots came from behind the building to gang up on the rookie.

The rookie groaned audibly as he unsheathed his sword. "More autobots! What are they all doing here on Earth?" He complained as he went to work on the other two.

Barricade's comms turned on. "Because their leader, Optimus Prime, has made it his mission to stick his sensors into everything we do. Flush them out."

"You don't have to tell me twice." The rookie responded as he swiftly took care of the two drones, stabbing them both directly in the spark as they made many mistakes during their battle, showing of their lackluster training. The rookie snapped his helm towards the leader, now without any other reinforcements.

The rookie grinned as he ran and decked the leader in the faceplate, pounding him with no mercy until he heard an offline noise from the Autobot's systems. "You should have trained harder." He said as he flicked his comms back on. "Well, Barricade, that seems to be the last of... wait a click... what in the blazes?" He exclaimed as he saw a red and white helicopter in the distance. "Another Autobot! Since when did they fly?!"

Barricade chuckled darkly into the rookie's comms. "Not so cushy once you're in the field. Is it, soldier? Put that brain of yours to use for once..." he growled, "Just quit whining and shoot him down."

The rookie jumped out of the way from the autobot's blasters as the assault was heavily concentrated onto him. He groaned as he got shot into the arm, furrowing his brows. The rookie then stood back up and pointed his blaster towards the assaulting Autobot and shot him out of the air, seemingly neutralizing him. Just to be sure, he walked over and stomped him a couple of times.

The rookie sighed as he scanned the area for anymore threats. "Autobots have been neutralized. Where are you anyway? I'm at the last coordinates you sent me."

Barricade scoffed. "Yeah, and that's why I'm not at them. Right now, you're a liability. You don't blend in for squat here on Earth. Scan a vehicle form, then we'll talk."

The rookie looked around and saw a broken down 1951 Ford F1 Pickup truck. It was blue with black stripes along the side. He quickly scanned the old vehicle, as blue plates formed along his body, signifying his new vehicular mode.

The rookie started to grow a little more impatient. "Barricade, I've scanned a vehicle form. Now, will you tell me your position?" He asked more hastily.

Barricade chuckled and sighed. "Oh sure, I just sent coordinates to your radar. Transform and drive to the location." The rookie let out a sigh of relief as maybe Barricade would actually be at the location he sent him.

The rookie then transformed swiftly into his vehicular mode. After which, he accelerated, causing the exhaust pipe to expel a large puff of black smoke. After a couple tries, he managed to get himself moving. "Primitive human technology..." he grumbled as he drove slowly to the location as to not any disturbance to alert the humans of his presence.

As he drove to the desolate part of town, cars began to slowly become more and more scarce. More abandoned buildings, cars, and other structures were littered across the area. When he reached the coordinates, he transformed and furrowed his brows. Barricade then switched onto his comms and snarked, "There. Was that so hard? Maybe you're not completely useless after all."

The rookie groaned and kicked an old beat up car in frustration.
