You spent the next few weeks with Lucy. She had her own foods and such, and you had yours. You two shared.... No, you rephrase that, you two tolerated each other's belongings, opinions, and supposedly, rations.
Your shoes dragged against the concrete with heavy weight. Peter's leash in your hand as the zombie stayed close to your side. His hand itched to touch yours, but he knew he wasn't the same as he once was before. He was afraid of infecting you. Even if had, you would give you his life and stay with you until death finally does its part.... If... It ever does, that is.
"Y/N... I'm tired of walking! I didn't have to do this before... I remember just going out nights and you know... Having my share of fun." Lucy smirked, hinting at what she meant by the end of her sentence, but her face quickly shifted into a pouty anger. "I need a break." You let out a frustrated sigh, your brows furrowing. "This would be our... Hmmm... I don't know, maybe 10th break in an hour? Come on, Lucy." You grumbled. The sun was setting and things were getting darker and the shadows grew longer. It wouldn't do you any good if you took any more breaks, on a deserted highway with littered cars. Maybe camping in a car wouldn't be bad... One sleeps in the back seat floor and the other in the trunk. Your mind paused. Peter looked over at you, staring expectantly. That's right, he knew what you had forgotten. Him. Of course he's sleeping with you. He needs to protect you. You knew the trunk was your option then.
You, Lucy, and Petted stayed in a car. You slept in the trunk as Lucy slept in the backseat of the car's floor. You opened the trunk, climbing in and letting Peter come in with you, before you shut the trunk. Peter growled softly, embracing you softly. His cold, rotted skinned hands gently trailed to your waist, playing with the fabric end of your pants gently. He nuzzled close, his tounge lolling out, offering a slimy lick of his love across your cheek, and remained quiet afterwards. Eventually, you let sleep take you again, as always. Tomorrow will be another day.Another few weeks passed. You eventually stayed at a gas station with Lucy. Rations were low, as you only ate during breakfast and dinner, no more or less. You lost drastic weight, but maybe it would help you run faster. Though... You started noticing things. Lucy became more of a brat and was vicious with her words.
"Remember how I saved you? Yeah, exactly Y/N, I deserved more food, protection, and weapons."
You often scolded her, saying it should be splitted and not done at once. She even started to try to take Peter, in which resulted in Peter often lunging and staring at her menacingly like she was nothing but a pure appetit he would love to break and tear open.
Days passed as you traveled more. You started realizing your food and water was lower and lower, even if it was rationed and you did not use it immediately. Lucy would say you dropped it, but you suspected her thievery over your items. A very tense atmosphere surrounded the both of you, suffocating your both with lies and deception.
One night as you camped out again in another gas station, you heard the sound of clattering, the sound of a can of food hitting the ground more like it. You sat up, immediately moving to your stuff. Lucy stood hunched over, ripping things of yours and shoving them into her bag. "Hey! Stop that!" You shouted, immediately moving forward and gripping her wrists. Your brows furrowing and your eyes glinted with anger and betrayal. She had lied, as you suspected. "Let go! I was... Just... Seeing what rations we have left..." Lucy said awkwardly. You immediately frowned. Another lie. Her thievery was something that made her greedy, greedy to steal for her gain. You shoved her backwards, ripping the bag stuffed with your rations. "What the hell were you thinking?! Taking my rations, lying, and idiotic ideas?" Lucy let out a grunt, immediately returning the shove back to you. "Easy for you to say. You had a zombie boy helping you. I should've had that, not you. You're nothing like me. I'm everything you want to be, but can't." You growled. That was enough for you. You bawled your fist and threw a punch. "You have everything but a brain!" You retorted. Lucy gripped her chin, a thin line of blood running down from your punch. She tackled you, you both fighting over this. She ended up pulling out her knife, which made you both lay hands on it and fight over control. She moved them knife over your stomach, as you desperately tried to pull it away with grunts. "Bye bye, wanna be." Lucy taunted. Before much could be done, a loud crunch rang out our. You looked up, Lucy's body missing a head. Peter stood over her, having eaten her head, and looked at you with a bloody smile.
That night, you did not sleep much. Or.... Not as much as you had wanted to, as the bloody zombie reminded you of the scent of Lucy's head with his breath. The urge to gag was strong, but the demand of sleep was stronger.A/N:
