"I can't be in the same room as you!" Shouted Hutter. "The rest of you should avoid him, too!"
After he vented his anger to the one he believes was the reason his beloved teacher died, Hutter quickly left the room, leaving everyone in bewilderment.
"Hutter!"
He doesn't look back. He hears voices from behind the kitchen door he just came from, but does not care enough to stay and listen. The only thing he hears before getting too far was a portion of his ex girlfriend speaking.
"... I need some fresh air, so I'm outta here..."
He hurries to the one place that brings him peace: John Grizzly's old classroom. He was a teacher at Blue Academy that specialized in teaching about closed circle cases. A curriculum that taught how to survive when a murder happens and you have been cut off from the outside world. Hutter was one of his students and he looked up to the old man, more than any of his other teachers. There was so much more he wanted to learn from John Grizzly, so many more questions he wanted to ask. He trained every single day, filled his notebook with more notes than were necessary, and even converse with the old man after class to gain as much information as he could. It was because of this teacher, that he decided to specialize in closed circle cases.
Hutter sits in his designated seat and watches the podium, as if one of the old man's lessons was in session right now. He'd replay each lesson taught to him a couple hundred times, since he found out about the teachers death. Once the principal received a report of what happened during the case, Hutter snuck into her office and peeked at the documents. He made sure to memorize each word, so he wouldn't make the same mistakes as his late teacher.
"Reality is brutal."
At some point, Hutter's ex girlfriend had snuck into the room and found a seat behind him. He was looking out the window now, a habit he recently gained to help keep his mind sane. He didn't notice her come in, but wasn't surprised when she spoke up. He's used to her popping up when he's alone and in his head. Maybe that's what made him fall for her. She's a bonafide psycho, but he found himself not caring about that once he broke up with her. Maybe it was "you don't know what you have until you lose it" kind of thing.
Either way, he knew he couldn't date her. Others would ridicule him and shame him for dating a girl like her. That's actually the reason Hutter asked her out. He heard from his cousin that, once you break up with a girl, you can never go back to being "just friends." He needed to get rid of these useless fantasies of dating Chelsea, so he asked her out and broke up with her half a day later. Except, it didn't seem to have much affect on her. She became moodier, but other than that, she still lingers near Hutter when he's alone.
"What do you want, Chelsea?"
"I didn't think it was a good idea to leave you alone at a time like this."
"I don't need you worrying about me, I can take care of myself."
Chelsea huffs, then mumbles under her breath, but Hutter was still able to hear.
"Always obsessed with being a tough guy."
"'Being a tough guy is what keeps me alive."
"Whatever helps you sleep at night." She retorts.
They both sit in silence for a while. The air conditioning turns on and they listen to its hum. The icy breeze blows down the back of Hutter's shirt, but he does not flinch as the goosebumps rise on his skin. He's staring at the chalkboard, remembering the time John Grizzly taught the class after catching a bad cold.
"Brrrrr, it's freezing in here! How can you stand sitting underneath the air vent?"
Chelsea looks at Hutter when he didn't respond and finds that he's lost in his own world. She gets up and moves to sit next to him, but quickly finds that's a mistake, since he's underneath the air vent more than she was.
