~One month later~

Waking up to the insufferable sound of the alarm, I sat up on the bed and thought to myself; "Today's the day" "omg...!" "Am I really going to Italy?" "Will I meet people?" "Am I ready?"

I was snapped out of my thoughts by my phone ringing. It was Sarah. "What is she doing up so early?" I asked myself as I answered the call.

Sarah - "Good morning, freshman! Are you ready?"
Me - "Good morning sarah, uhm yea... I think I am"
Sarah - "You better be! This is such a big step in your life!"
Me - "I know, I'm really excited"
Sarah - "You sure don't sound like it"
Me - "Ha! Trust me I am"
Sarah - "Well that's good to know, I'll leave you to get ready"
Me - "ok, thanks"
Sarah - "hey... I'm proud of you"
Me - "Th- thanks sarah..."
Sarah - "You're welcome, bye!"

My heart did a summersault as it was encaptured with love, as I smiled at Sarah's words. "She remembered" I said to myself. I don't know of any other family member other than my parents and a uncle of mine who moved to another country.

We're not close with each other, so he wouldn't know I'm going to college to give me a call such as Sarah's.

I bounced myself out of bed and went to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and went into the shower. I took a very long relaxing bath and gave my hair a wash. I had to smell good. This is gonna be a 12 hour flight after all.

After my long shower. I went back to my bedroom wrapped in towels as I applied body lotion to my skin with my favourite scent, Sweet Pea.

I put on a bit of make-up and dressed in a fancy but comfortable dress. Going out is the only time I dress like this. I'm normally in a over sized hoody and a shorts. I have no one to impress anyways.

I packed the last of my necessities and went downstairs to make myself a healthy breakfast for the first time in a long while, which consists of: A boiled egg, waffles, An avocado toast, with bacon and a cup of coffee.

I sat down and ate the entire thing, before brushing over my teeth, turning off all the lights and locking all doors, then calling a cab, which arrived in fifteen minutes.

I grabbed myself out of my house as I locked the front door. Whilst the driver took my suitcases to put in the trunk, I took a look back at my house, with tears in my eyes before entering the car.

I sat in the car doing what I was best at; overthinking. "Wow...." "I'm actually doing this!" "I believe in you Isadora" "Make them proud"

After about thirty minutes, the car came to an abrupt stop when I realized we were stuck in traffic.
Me - "Uhm is there any other route we could take?"
Driver - "No ma'am, and even if there was we have no way of coming out"

I'm so fucking pissed right now! My plane is off in 2 hours! I thought. I only hoped that I would make it in time. The road started to clear up and what was suppose to be a 40 minutes drive turned into an hour. But I was still early. Thank God.

I dragged my stuff into the airport and took a seat while I waited for my Plane to be called. When it was time and we were all seated on the plane and an announcement was made.

Pilot - "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome onboard Flight 4B7 with service from Mexico to Italy. We are currently third in line for take-off and are expected to be in the air in approximately seven minutes time."

Hearing these words made my anxiety start to kick in. I have never flown before so this is all a new experience for me. It is now time for take off, as we were slowly taking off and the plane move at the slightest but my heart was racing, my legs were shaking, I closed my eyes wishing the flight has ended as I grip on to the armrest.

The lady beside me saw this and held my hand giving me a reassuring smile that told me everything will be ok, I returned a smile and closed my eyes as I held tightly with my hand into hers.

We were in the air when she gave me a tap on the shoulder to signal me.
Lady - "We're in the air hun"
Me - "uh... oh my God"
Lady - "Deep breaths sweety"
I did as she suggested and thanked her for her act of kindness towards me.

I tried my best not to look out the window because I got a window seat which was terrifying! I got out my headphones and played some music as I tried to relax.

Two hours in the flight, I was taken aback by the marvelous view. The clouds are all colourful and everything seems so small from all the way up here. An amazing view I tell you.

I fell asleep staring through the window with a neck pillow on. I was woken up by the lady who was sitting next to me, who informed me that the flight attendant was giving out snacks. I've heard that airoplane food is terrible but I wanted to try it for myself so I took fish and a bread roll. To my surprise it was delicious. I had my bottled water so I drank some and went back to sleep.

I was frightened awake hearing the sound, four hours into my sleep, of the pilot announcing something.
Pilot - "Ladies and gentlemen, we're experiencing some turbulence. Please return to your seats and fasten your seatbelts." along with the 'FASTEN SEATBELT' sign being turned on.

I quickly did what was instructed and asked the lady if our flight will end soon.
Lady - "Uh I don't know, but don't worry everything will be fine."
I could see that she was trying to consulate me so I wouldn't think about it too hard but I was on the verge of crying as I sat still in my seat just wishing the flight would end.

After the turbulence had occured I was relieved to hear one of the flight attendants walk up to our seat and told us our flight would end in a couple hours. I put my headphones back on and started playing some music to calm me down once again.

~Couple hours later~

Pilot - "Thank you for flying with us."
