Harley Dawn, a famous barrel racer who is known all around.
"why does my best racer have to be afraid of trailers?" She thought to herself, sighing after. Her other horse Vixen was already on, ready to go to their new house. As she did another circle she clucked and used the treat she had to somehow convince Rocky to get on the trailer.
Rocky, now seeing the treat, went on without a problem and ate the treat out of her hand. Harley put the trailer tie on Rocky's halter before taking off his lead rope and getting off the trailer. She closed the trailer's side door then went to close the back door, securing it tightly before going to check she had everything. Once everything was on the trailer or in her truck she finally got in the drivers seat and drove off from her parent's estate.
*Harley's point off view*
I looked out the window, putting on the signal to turn right into the long driveway I know own. As I turn the truck I make sure the trailer is fine before looking ahead and driving down it. Once i start to see the end off the trees surrounding the driveway I see my two story house then an outdoor arena behind it. After seeing that, I saw the huge barn that had around 20 stalls inside it.
I park the truck and get out, looking around the new area. There's a indoor arena, a huge paddock, a couple round pens, two outdoor wash stalls, and greenery. After looking for a minute I go and grab their lead ropes, unlocking the back door and un securing Rocky after I put his lead rope on. I lead him out of the trailer and bring him inside the barn, leading him into the first stall that already had shavings, hay, and a water bucket. It seemed weird but I took off his halter and put it out his door. Rocky nuzzled against my side as I let out a chuckle, "I hope the ride wasn't as bad as you thought Rocky." I smiled and locked his stall door before looking at the trailer and seeing a man take Vixen out of the trailer. "who is that man?" I thought to myself, confused, I walked over to where he was leading Vixen to the barn. Her shiny coat glistening in the sun.
"Hello? Why are you leading my horse?" I gave him a stern look, confused as well. He halted Vixen and looked at me with a look of slight confusion. "Didn't the last owners tell you there was barn help?" He said in a thick country accent and made me blush slightly, seeing how he's about a foot taller than me which scared me even though im 5'5. The man also has beautiful hazel eyes and beautiful brunette hair that was curly. I could go on and on about how he looks but that's not the point.
"No, they didn't." I lied, now remembering they did mention there was a few men that worked here. He let out a cough before smiling at me, "Well, i'm Andrew and over there is Parker." Andrew pointed at the guy who was a bit shorter than Andrew. Parker was grabbing the tack that was in my trailer to bring it up to the tack room. I looked back at Andrew, a slight smile on my face. "I'm Harley Dawn, the new owner." I said proudly, with a smile on my face and my city accent sticking out as I was born and raised in the city.
I looked at him and he nodded at me before Vixen neighed. Him and I let out a slight chuckle then he got Vixen walking again to go to her new stall. I forgot that my parents were trailering over my two other horses, Trudy and Wyatt. Which I saw their truck appear and park on the side of my truck and trailer. They had their 4 horse trailer which confused me as they were only supposed to bring two horses. I walked up to their truck as i was surprised that I saw a palomino that wasn't mine. My dad rolled down his window smiling, "Did you see your new present?" I gave him a big smile, nodding. "Thank you!!" I kissed his cheek before quickly walking toward the middle of the trailer, already seeing both Trudy and Wyatt are off and in their stalls. The palomino's lead rope was a blue and green spiral color and his halter had a gold plate with his name on it. It read, 'Just my Luck' then on the other side it said 'Gambler'.
I lead him out of the trailer and lead him into the barn, putting him into an empty stall and wondering where Parker and Andrew went. As I look over my shoulder I see both of them carry stuff from my trailer or my parent's. Parker looked at me and gave me a wink which made me slightly blush. I went up the stairs which were on the side of Gambler's stall, looking at the huge tack room. As Andrew turned around from carrying the 5 bridles, he hung them up on these really pretty hooks that had horseshoes. When he put down Vixen's bridle, I grabbed it and the english saddle that I got that fits her back. I also grabbed a light blue saddle pad, her girth, and the black thin line half pad before walking out of the tack room. As I left I felt Andrew's eyes on me the entire time. Once I got to Vixen's stall I brushed her off with my curry comb then my soft brush then tacking her up. After I was done I put on her bridle, making sure her forelock wasn't under the brow band then I led her out of her stall. I looked around and grabbed the step stool to get on outside of the barn. I put my stirrups down and used the stool to get on.
A couple minutes later
I walked Vixen around the property, keeping a good leg on her. As I looked around I saw there was a couple more paddocks and a lake then a forest that had a path. I got Vixen to walk on the path by using my right leg to make her go left. Even though nature is always pretty, this forest seems the prettiest of all. I kept on walking, now in the middle of the forest, I hear a howl from a coyote. It scared Vixen a lot which made her rear and throw me off. I land on the ground, not harmed but the coyotes were now 5 ft away with no horse in sight or anything. I'm stuck and with no way out of it.
