Part 5 of Set Out Camp!"Camp Campbell was in distress. A week ago, Max suffered Quartermaster's spell that
made him have his most traumatic nightmares come to life, in a distorted, vivid sleep paralysis. I was shocked, of course. I didn't want to make a big deal about it, because Quartermaster swore that he would take care of the situation. He doesn't have that much empathy, but he knows what's good and what isn't. Max needed to see how dangerous it could be. To be addicted to the Amarythia is a dangerous thing. And the campers needed to know about this addiction."Gwen stopped writing. The pouring rain outside made the windows produce loud noise. David suspected that Nerris was behind the current weather.
- Seriously, David? commented Gwen. Ever heard of natural rain?
She groaned as she got up from her desk. She dropped herself on her bed, turning around and scrolling through her phone. David went out in the rain in search of Max, who was in need of comfort. The rough nightmare he had, it was more than he could take. But he knew better, to not let his fear overtake him. Although it was a difficult task, being able to resist it. His friends made him feel better, but they also reminded him of their evil counterparts.
David entered his tent with a big smile on his face. Harrison was seen sitting next to him, asking questions.- Harrison... I think thats enough, David said, unenthusiastic. Let him breathe.
Harrison left the tent, his eyes aiming at David before he disappeared. David sat down with Max. He was ranting about how he couldn't believe that Harrison didn't care about the dream I had but more about what Quartermaster told him. David was stunned.
- How about we let this go for now? I'm sure this month would be more relaxing if we stopped discussing the recent events... but of course, we need to deal with Harrison. He is unfortunately just, not there... psychologically speaking.
David coughed.
- Good thing the Amarythia is in good hands.
Max stared at David and understood that Harrison might be the biggest problem they need to solve. With Neil now healed, and Nikki still in one piece, he could always get them to figure out a way to end this so-called "obsession" with the Amarythia.
Nerris was seen looking at the campers from a tree. Her goggles were on the edge of the branch, but her hands were quick enough to catch them. In front of her eyes, she could see Preston flying back to the camp with a bag filled with what seemed to be rubies. A lot of rubies. Nerris was confused. Max took the bag and started rearranging them by size. A magical aura appeared and then disappeared. Nerris noticed that Max was visibly upset.
- Let's try again tomorrow... he muttered, angry.
Preston facepalmed.
- There is no tomorrow! We have to figure out how to deal with Harrison, or else everything backfires!
- Fine... Max destroyed the bag and the rubies.
Nerris noticed Harrison behind a tree, visibly spying on them. He then looked at her which gave her chills. She never thought she would be scared by her own friend.
- Hello, Nerris, Harrison whispered behind her. What are you doing?
- B...Birdwatching... she hesitated.
Harrison stared at her for a few seconds. He suddenly did the unthinkable. Nerris fell from the branch as she felt two hands push her. She didn't have time to summon a cloud, but she landed safely on a bush. Max and Preston noticed her.
