After days of resting in my hideout, I lost the energy to meet Jade. Meast hadn’t assigned me any side missions during that time; he was fully aware of my situation. Because of that, he refrained from giving me any tasks, leaving me with a growing sense of boredom and restlessness. The stillness of my days dragged on, amplifying my frustration. I felt trapped in this limbo, with nothing to occupy my mind or distract me from the weight of my thoughts.

I picked up the apple from my table, the skin glistening under the light. As I began to peel it, the crispness of the fruit filled the air with a fresh, sweet scent. Once the skin was off, I sliced it into neat wedges, each cut revealing the juicy white flesh within. I took a bite, the firm texture giving way easily under my teeth, the sweetness bursting in my mouth, momentarily distracting me from the heaviness that lingered in my mind.

August is dear to me; I treat him as my little brother, so I care about him. I don't want him to break. I don't know why; I just don't want him to experience being in pain. I don't want him to get hurt, lose himself, and hope for something he has no chance with.

Mavis is in love with Draven Monticello.
