"I WAS A QUICK, WET BOY
DIVING TOO DEEP FOR COINS."

SEPTEMBER 2, 1975

The bright sunrise peeking through the curtains of Jovina's dorm woke her up before her alarm, aggravating her. She sat up in her bed, careful not to wake any of her dorm mates, walking out into the hall, down the stairs to the common rooms bathroom.

She looked at herself in the mirror, her smudged makeup she forgot to wash off the night before still had remnants around her eyes and cheeks. Her hair was frizzy and knotty, she moved around in her sleep more than she does in an entire day.

Grimacing at her appearance, she ran the tap, washing her face with ice cold water, an attempt to wake herself up more, and to wash off the mascara and eye makeup she was too lazy to wipe off last night.

After cleaning herself up, taking a quick shower, and putting on her uniform, minus her robes, she walked down the stairs to the main floor of the common room, who stood Theo near the door. He was looking around, as if he was waiting for something.

"Theo?" Jovina questioned, walking over to her younger brother
"why are you standing by the door? You should be down at breakfast."

"I know. I just wanted to wait for you, you take forever to get ready by the way." Theo mumbled, looking up at his sister.

Jovina's heart warmed by his words, he waited for her to go and eat? He must be nervous about being in a new school, or away from Sebastian.

Nevertheless, Jovina smiled and nudged her brother out the door, towards the Great Hall.

"Welcome back fifth years! Please, find your assigned tables" Professor Slughorn greeted, his usual bright smile plastered on his face, he was always a welcoming, charming professor, a good one at that. The St. James family was a close one to the Slughorns, seeing them at large functions during school breaks, it's a little awkward seeing your teacher during your break from school. Nevertheless, Jovina didn't care, and never minded seeing her potions professor out of Hogwarts.

Jovina found her spot, sat with James Potter and Evan Rosier. The three had always been sat near each other since their second years it stayed the same trio whenever a new term had begun. As she sat down, she noticed James was missing from the trio, where could he be?

"St. James" Evan greeted, cocking his head up gently as his form of a wave, or even a smile. Jovina had done the same motion, their unspoken greeting always the same when the two had crossed each others past.
