"I GOT NOTHING FOR YOU TO GAIN, IM TAKING IT SLOW, FEEDING MY FLAME."

SEPTEMBER 16, 1975

"Okay wait- hey- wait a moment, let me think! I'm...still confused."

Peter and Remus groaned for the thirteenth time, Remus had been rubbing the temples on the side of his head while Peter slumped down in defeat. His head fell between the pocket that his arms had created on the coffee table. Helping James Potter with his homework was no easy task.

It was the second week of classes, the second week of September and the day of a waxing gibbous. Closer to a full moon, even if the evening was more pleasant than annoying, the pain moving around in Remus' body was anything but enjoyable. He got more used to his lycanthropic condition, but it never stopped the pain, all he could do was deal with it.

Everyone was on edge for a different reason, for James, it happened to be his potions homework. For Peter, it was helping James with his homework. For Remus, it was the annoying and uncomfortable pain that he couldn't stop.

"It's because you're not listening, James." Remus spoke, trying to keep his calm towards the boy sitting across from him.

"I've never been good at this stuff! Potions was always your's and Lily's type of thing...and hearing you two groan and get annoyed isn't helping me either." James exclaimed, crossing his arms and leaning back into the chair he was sitting against in the Gryffinfor common room, it was after dinner and all houses began to settle down for the night, finishing unattended homework, or relaxing and enjoying their night with friends, or even alone.

"believe me, we are not trying to get annoyed James." Remus spoke again, running his hand down his face

"Then try and work with me guys! I can't help it that I can't concentrate on some subjects" James frowned.

"if you concentrated more in potion's than thinking about your 'precious Lily flower' then we wouldn't be here right now." Peter retorted.

the two boys sitting ajar from Potter had began to giggle at Peter's remark, which only made James more agitated than he already was. James sighed and stood up, grabbing his potions homework and his textbook, scowling at his two friends.

"You two don't know how to tutor at all! I'll ask Jovie about it tomorrow morning, I'm going to see what Sirius is doing right now." James grumbled, slowly trotting up the stairs towards his dorm room.

Peter and Remus sat there on the ground, sighing as James left the mingling area of the common room. Peter sat up in the couch instead of against the bottom, Remus doing the same. The two leaned back into the sofa, not needing to crouch over to help James sitting on the floor against the other couch opposite to theirs.
