Aemma had been freed from her captors and Queen for a fortnight. In that time, peace however temporary, had prevailed.
However, instead of simply hearing her dead family members, she often thought she had caught a glimpse of her family.
It was beginning to become worrisome.
How was she to rule if she was going mad?
How was she to rule if she was alone and had no idea how to rule?
At the moment, Aemma was overlooking the the training yard, fondly remembering a time where she would watch Jace and Luke train with their father, Ser Harwin while she trained in Archery.
Rhaenyra smiled as she looked upon her eldest child, her only daughter, as she read beside her. As her latest pregnancy progressed, the 10 year old hardly ever left her side.
It was no secret that the heir to the Iron Throne adored her children and her children adored her, none more so than Princess Aemma Velaryon. She practically worshipped the ground that her mother walked on, and she could do no wrong in the young girl's eyes. It was clear to anyone that knew the firstborn child of the Heir, and even to those who haven't had the pleasure of knowing her, that Aemma loved her Mother more than anything else on this Earth, but Rhaenyra loved her precious girl even more than that.
The girl looked up from her book, "Muña, why can I not learn to sword fight?" Aemma asked her mother, "I am the eldest, it is my job to protect you and my brothers."
Rhaenyra tucked her daughter's hair behind her ear. Her daughter often reminded her of younger self. She gave Aemma a smile, "There is more than one way you can protect your brothers." She told Aemma, "Would you like to take up archery?" She asked
The little girl nodded, "Issa, Muña. I'll become the best archer and I'll practice from Aegarax's back." She declared
The Heir to The Iron Throne kissed her daughter's forehead, "It is my hope that you should never need that skill, sweet girl, but we shall talk to Ser Erryk, Ser Steffon or Ser Lorent about starting lessons."
Aemma smiled brightly, "I will not disappoint you, Muña!"
Aemma snapped out of the memory when she heard footsteps approaching. She turned her head and saw a squire.
"My Queen, Lord Stark and the Northmen have come. They are in the Throne room with the riverlords and Lord Corlys." The squire told her
The Queen nodded and started heading towards her guests.
The large doors opened and standing in the room were her mother's honorable supporters.
The Sea Snake nodded to Aemma with a curt bow of his head, "My Queen."
"Lord Corlys." She greeted unemotionally
This man had betrayed her mother. Had switched sides in a fit of anger.
How long before he betrayed her like he did her mother?
Cregan Stark stood before the throne, faces on either side of him from both sides of the war.
The Lord of Winterfell was the only one Aemma could bear to look at but even that wasn't for long.
One of the old Kingsguards shouted from behind her, "Queen Aemma, of House Targaryen."
Aemma made her way into the room but did not ascend to the throne. Instead she looked at the Northerns, "Lord Stark, I welcome you and the Northerners to King's Landing." She greeted
