I can't wait to get on that train.
I heard all the laughs and goodbyes of other students parting with their families, I looked up to my mother. She smiled at me and pulled me close, she felt warm and I knew I'd miss her, I always do.
My father gave me a stern look,
"You'll stay safe?".
I nodded.
"Don't be getting into any trouble, understand? I know what your friends are like,".
Truth be told, he didn't, unlike my mother who I feel a precious bond with, we never connected like that. Deep down, he cares for me.
"I'll see you soon!" I smiled.
"Have a lovely Christmas!" My mother called to me as I walked off.
I scanned the crowd and saw a familiar face.
Mable.
She ran up to me and gave me a hug that almost made me fall over.
"Oh it's been ages!"
"You've grown", I respond
"Shame I can't say the say the same for you!", She put her hands on her hips whilst looking me up and down, it was true, I was beginning to doubt I'll ever grow. I shoved her playfully.
"Where's the others?" I looked behind her.
"I haven't seen them"
Then a familiar face smiled at me through the crowd, his grey eyes shone and he flicked his blonde hair.
I scoffed, Malfoy could be so cocky. Memories flashed through my mind, he'd asked me to join him for the quidditch World Cup. One of the best nights of my life, it was thrilling! Mr Malfoy got us great seats!
"Hey, Ellie!", It was a stupid nickname, it annoyed me so much, "C'mon, we'll miss the train", he grabbed my arm and we jumped on.
We squished and pushed our way through the crowd; trying to find our friends.
"Hey Mable!" On my right stood Lonrenzo Berkshire, grinning and smiling at Mable, I gave her a nudge that made her stumble and got a evil glare in return.
To the left of him sat, Pansy, Blaze, Theo and sadly Crabb and Goyle. I blushed when I saw Theo, I didn't know why, his warm smile made me tingle...
"Earth to Estelle?!"
I jumped a bit and looked embarrassingly up at Mable's face, she gave me a baffled look and sat down.
I quickly joined her.
What was wrong with me?! I couldn't even look Theo in the face, I've never felt like this with anyone before...
"ESTELLE?!"
"Huh?!" I looked up and saw Pansy laughing.
"What has gotten into you?!"
I felt my cheeks go pink.
"Oh I was just thinking..."
"Anyway!" Came Blaze's voice, "What was the match like?!"
Malfoy replied, "Brilliant! Father got us great seats and..."
I stopped listening, and slumped back in the seat, thinking...
Then Pansy whispered in a hushed voice that got my attention,
"So, what do you guys think about the triwizard tournament?! Surely your parents have told you!"
I thought to myself, yes my mother had mentioned something but she didn't expand on it.
"Well Beauxbatons and Durmstang are coming aren't they? Father actually considered sending Durmstang rather than Hogwarts, you know? He knows the head master you see, well you know his opinion from dumbledoor; the man's such a mud blood lover!"
Pansy shrieked with laughter at Malfoy's comment,
"And Durmstang doesn't admit those sort of riffraff...but mother didn't like the idea of me going to school so far away. Father says Durmstang takes a far more sensible line about the dark arts, Durmstang students actually learn them, not the defence rubbish we do!"
Pansy immediately began talking about boys with Mable now that we've considered the fact that, fit, smart boys will be coming to our school.
After a while I heard Draco's voice
"Ellie?" Malfoy prodded me with his foot under the table.
"Yeah..?" I glanced up at him, he was grinning, a 'let's go annoy potter' grin...
