"The sky is beautiful tonight". Hope whispered for herself. This path was one she walked many times this last year. Her new job, new apartment in a complete new country brought her a different sense of fulfilling she didn't knew she could've had experienced in her short lived existence. The autumn breeze raising goosebumps on the woman skin. 'Who would have thought we could be this peaceful!' Her innerself voice called with a relieved smile. ' we did it.'
Walking through the empty park helped clench her anxiety, she was never one to be comfortable around people. Hope smiled to a squirrel that crossed her path. A few yards away she saw someone coming from her opposite direction.
' Deep breath. You are safe.' Her inner voice placate her thundering heart, hands instinctively bringing her purse closer. With a mind as paranoid as her's, her purse was the wet dream of every apocalypse enthusiast. Organized with precision and care she had nutrition bars, a water filter, a taser, a travel size hair and skin care, a comb that hides a sharp knife, her pencils and scratch book, two pairs of lingerie, and a lot of small itens that talk volumes about its owners, even her watch was tactical in nature... Feminine yes, but totally crazy. Her Doctor could testify that. Of courser Dr. Bermont wouldn't say she was insane, he probably would say something along the lines of " Peculiar yes, but mostly harmless."
If people observing Hope from the outside had to guess what she carries in her bag and in her head aswell they would have a really hard time and probably the shock of theyr life's.Walking silently on her vintage Doll style high hills, a flowing formal dark blue almost black skirt, paired with long sleeves and high neck white dress shirt, her long red hair was locked in a perfect styled bun...
Formal, modest, proper and silent. Hope was for those who had the chance to interact with her, impossible to read and predict. Cold hearted and level headed.... It was close to impossible to get a genuine reaction from her.
You can ask her bitch boss. The head staff from the library she worked at, had a secret mission to try and piss off the poor and introvert Hope. Most of her Superior's distaste came from a place of jealousy and envy, Hope was, in appearance, everything she wasn't and yet the girl would hide everything God have naturally gifted her with formal vintage clothing and tight corsets.Thinking abou her boss made her smile a little, secretly, Hope knew her Boss goals and motives, Ms. Marion was too fucking easy to read, predict and tease.
Giggling at the tough she noticed that the person that was coming her way had past and gone away already. Breathing in relief she resumed her silent walk. "Almost There." She sung inside her head when her building came in view.
Hope's mouth watered thinking about the three layer chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and cute sparkling dots that she baked and decorate last night. It was heavenly and she was craving it. With a new target to pursue on her never ending imaginary battlefield, she hurried her steps. Hope could almost taste the perfect balance of the sweet treat. Until everything went black. The pounding in her head would be unwelcomed if the circumstances were different. Now, the pain is helping Hope to stay focused.
Cries and whimpers echoes in theyrs shared cell. Twelve women bundled together trying to melt and become smaller than they actually are.
Hope hugged her knees and carefully replayed the last memories again and again. It simple didn't make sense, she never let her guard down, the last living souls she remembers seeing were the cute squirrel and some random guy talking on his cellphone. She knew she was close to her home, she remembers the excitement of getting to eat a delicious cake and then... Nothing. Nada. Not a single clue, not even fragments of something.
No memories, no purse, no idea. She hated that she some way lost Control of her life. Again. ' Not the moment to drawn is self-pity sweetheart.'
Hope knew her inner Demon was right. She had her tactical watch, her hairpin, all layers of her clothes were on and in good shape. She watched hers kidnaping sisters with analitical eyes. ' Age ranges from 20 to middle 30, all in health shape, all female.' She nodded, yep, those were the only thing those women had in common. Twelve different hairstyles and colors, twelve attires, twelve nationalities. Realizing that all women spoken different languages she felt her heart run inside her ribcage.
The place they were, was too clean, too metal, too organized. No human trafficking rig would care enough for higiene... No evil multimillionaire Corporate would spend this much to run illegal test. Bribe twelve country's wouldn't be cheap.
And there was those blue lights. They lined the cage and part's of the flooring and walls. Looking around she almost laughed, she heard about places like this, on sify novels and comics.
If Hope could guess she would bet her left kidney that they have been abducted by some alien. But that wouldn't make sense... What type of High intelligence Space Fairing Race would go around Earth kidnapping random girls? What for?
' Maybe they need us to breed the next generation.' Hope bites her lip at the stupid out of time remark of her inner voice. Nevertheless, the wrong kind of chills ran down her spine forcing her to try and merge with the metal bars of the cell.
Of every possible scenarios her paranoid and creative mind came up with, the reality was not even close to the worst of her worst hippoteses... No, of course reality would crush any and every hope of getting out of this damned situation safe and sound.
She was unfortunately, right. Indeed they were abducted by aliens... Either this or they died and went to a different kind of hell with scary demons to match. Hope would give it to theyrs captors, they sure knew how to make a impactful entrance. The ' swoosh' sound made by the door they came from was the only warning for the growls and bangs that came afterwards. Everyone was either crying or screaming or just in shock.
Three creatures so impossible tall that her mind was having a hard time to accept what she was seeing. Those monsters had faces to make Chtulu green with jealousy. Eyes that glowed in the dim light in this room. Everything on those montruosities screamed DANGEROUS. From theyrs futuristic gladiator like armor, passing through theyr tonnend to perfection body, even theyrs hands were dangerous tipped with what looked like razor sharp claws. Those creatures weren't satisfied with only intimidating, they wanted the girls as scared as possible. The reason for it came with the noise of the bars retracting to ground.
Almost crushed by the others eleven girls, Hope noticed that they all have similar collars that start to glow the same blue lights on the room.
Slowly the light became almost palpable, treading from one collar to the next one, until all twelve Humans were chained one to another. The final tread was held by the tallest of the three humanoids in the room.
' Fuck' she felt the unforgiven pull her own collar and start walking. Behind her only another girl stood, and behind her, was one of the creatures. The third one was walking impatiently from the end to the beginning of theyrs Indian line.
' Please don't be a new breeding program.'
