TW: Violence, Murder, & Blood

-----

Nightmare walked down the halls of his castle, his guard trailing carefully behind and his husband on his arm. His deep purple cape waved behind him, mere inches away from hitting their personal guard who trailed behind. Though he kept a respectful distance between him and his Kings, so there was no way anything of theirs would touch him. His lover leaned against his side, his head lightly banging against his armour as they walked. Though Nightmare tried to keep him as comfortable as possible as they travelled through the halls. The light from the candles flickered and reflected against the shiny, reflective gelatinous substance that covered his whole body and the perfectly clean armour encasing him.

The three of their heads' remained high, as royals they were above everyone else in the castle and they liked to remind everyone of that. They ignored the fearful looks and respectful bows from the staff and guards as the three of them walked down the corridors. They had been called down to the throne room on a matter he considered to be extremely important. Nightmare didn't normally allow anyone he viewed as less than him to summon him, but this was a very specific case. He was quite full of himself, and very rarely were things more important to him than his ego, but this was absolutely one of them. The guards opened the doors in front of him as they approached them.

He groaned, handing his lover off to the guard behind him, Nightmare trusted him to care for the small man, his personal guard would never injure his darling lover. His small love took the guard's hand and smiled at him sweetly the second he looked away. Though it wasn't like he really cared all that much either way, it was nothing new for them. Though as he pulled the guard close to him everyone else in the room gave them strange looks.

Nightmare approached the man kneeling on the floor, guards surrounding him, keeping him still and quiet. Nightmare walked around, watching the man's entire body tense when he heard the heavy thumps of his armour smacking against the ground as the large King walked. His hand palmed the sword at his side, the bloodlust in his body bubbling up as he stood over him, staring at his face. The man on his knees growled and fought against the chains holding his wrists and ankles together. Though the guards continued to hold him still to make sure that there was no way for him to attack their King. Nightmare grabbed his face and turned him around to face his lover and the guard at his side, and the second their bodies touched he stopped fighting and he fell limp. Maybe it was the fear, or maybe it was Nightmare's magic affecting him, everyone else in the room would never know.

"Is this the man, Ink?" He asked, continuing to fidget with the sword at his hip as his body was silently screaming at him for blood.

Ink silently nodded, confirming that this was the man who had snuck in and attempted to assassinate him. A sinister smile spread over his face as he yanked the sword out of its sheath and sliced through the man's back in one swift motion. The guards and staff in the room all gasped, many of them stepping back in fear or horror as the blood splashed against the floor and many of the guards that were closer to the now dead man. His blood splashed against Nightmare's face and across his armour as the top half of his body fell, smacking against the ground, blood pouring out of the slash that split him in half.

The King had sliced straight through the man, his organs, his spine, even the heavy armour encasing him. Many of the guards and staff sat unflinching, though many of the newer ones immediately froze in terror. Nightmare looked around the room at the many guards who were trying-and failing-to hide the fear now coating their faces. He called out, easily gaining their susceptible and terrified attention.

"Does everyone see that? The next person to even attempt to attack Ink or I will meet the same fate. Choose your loyalties wisely." He announced to the room of guards and servants.
