Chapter #2 - Regret my Recklessness

As Adamai landed on one of the ledges of the castle, I had no idea what his intentions were. I felt him turn and glance behind him as he inspected the handrails for an unknown reason. Losing my sense of touch, I barely noticed when Adamai set me down to lean on them.

"Yugo?" I heard him ask me gently and quietly.

"Yea?" I whispered back, wincing in pain. The sense of heavy adrenaline I had come to accept was wearing off quickly, which meant that the sharp pains that came as a result of my recklessness were taking me over. I had to be reckless sometimes, though. My people were more important to me at this point than my own state of health.

"Don't move you one of your muscles until I'm back with Xenlyr, okay?" he demanded politely. (Just a note that at the time I dreamt this, Xenlyr didn't exist, and I (Yugo) never actually saw what the Eniripsa was like.) I slowly nodded against everything my pain told me.

Once I was certain that Adamai had gone through at least half of the castle to find him, I began to try and figure out for myself what injuries Ad hadn't mentioned so that I wouldn't fall concerned. It did become very obvious to me, despite his secrecy, that I was severely burned on more than just my wrists. I could feel my own pulse from my entire hand up through somewhere above my elbow, and the constant throb was unsettling. My back was clearly cut up bad enough that it felt hotter than the fire I was just in, and I was positive my nose was bleeding profusely.

It hit me like a truck when the tiredness was made aware to me. I must have teleported much further than I thought, because even the thought of making a simple portal made me want to ask Adamai to knock me out. I could probably use I good nap anyway.

"-his back, making large gashes, his nose has been bleeding for ten minutes at least, and he's being unusually oblivious to the obvious," I heard Adamai state. At least I was right about my nose... I opened my eyes to see Xenlyr's lose haircut covering his face from view as he examined me quickly.

"Right. He probably breathed in an overload of everything but oxygen if he was at the base of the fire," Xenlyr explained, "Adamai, bring Yugo. I'll set up a room ahead of us in the fourth wing." I closed my eyes again at the statement. If Xenlyr felt rushed to the point that I must have been in danger, I sure didn't feel that way. I came to the attention of my more scattered breathing the burn of smoke up my bleeding nose.

'I should stop underestimating things, shouldn't I?' I asked Adamai in his head. He had taught me to communicate through our dragon link even though I insisted that it was the most useless practice at the time. Another case of being ignorant and disregarding the seriousness of my brother's foresight. I would thank Ad for his persistence in teaching another time.

"Yes, Yugo, you really should," he responded aloud, chuckling a bit. I tried my best to smile at him as he lifted me once again.

Not even a minute later, I heard the voices of both Xenlyr and some other Eniripsas arguing over what patients were in more dire condition.

"He was threw himself into a burning fire! I have to treat him!" Xenlyr yelled.

"I already said, even if you are an Eniripsa, this hospital is at maximum!" a different woman yelled.

"I'm sure you know the Enirpsa code. Rule 4: 'Royalty first'?"

"You still don't have your permit with you, and you don't even have a permission form to perform higher-end spells in this facility!"

"You'll be losing yours the moment he dies because of your refusal."

"I'd lose it first for direct mistreating of the patient in this room!"

"Again, rule 4!"

"You aren't welcome to perform!"

"I just need a sterile environment for thirty minutes. Then I'll leave without fuss."

"You'd have to use the floor as your field."

There was a silent pause from the matter.

"Deal, it will work for now," Xenlyr finished, sounding more optimistic than before. I opened my eyes again as Adamai layed me on the newly sterile floor. Xenlyr sighed as he leaned down to talk to me.

"I truely apologize for what your about to experience, but I have to do it this way because I'm on short time," Xenlyr sadly whispered to me. I was about to question him when I felt sharp pain right under my chin.

'A needle!' I practically screamed to Adamai in my head, uncertain about this new method he had been working on. 'Xenlyr told me about it... His project called,' "Kerqek..?" I asked Xenlyr to finish my statement. I saw him nod before I knew I was passing out.

'Don't leave,' I commanded Adamai in my head before letting sleep overcome me.

I'm back and I've got some things to say.

First of all, I just remembered that NONE OF YOU ((minus A and Stargren) Hi guys.) KNOW WHO XENLYR IS. If you've also been keeping up with Memories: King's Return, don't worry, he shows up soon. He's not my favourite (again, if you keep up you know who is), but I still find his impulsive character fun to write about.

Second of all, unlike Memories, this isn't edited (yet) so I apologize if I just become really confusing. It does also follow what my dream logic is though, so I don't blame you if you don't quite follow. I MIGHT BE COMPLETELY WRONG ALSO, so I'm not trying to discredit y'all.

Third of all, I have a funny story. I remember that when I woke up, I felt that my nose was dry, (not a surprize, though, the AQI here is in the 450's as of writing this) and I checked my pillow. Sure enough, I had bled in my sleep and my entire cheek was crusted with the stuff. (I'm a side sleeper) I just thought that it was funny.

Thank you guys for being awesome again!
