When I got on the bus, all eyes were on me.

My eye was swollen, my arm could practically fall off any second, I had bruises all over, yet for some reason, no one understood.
It only made them think I did it, and that I was emo.

But they had no idea.

At lunch, I just ignored everyone.

What a wonderful way to start off the school year...
I thought as a group of girls and boys approached me.

"Please... Take my lunch... Just, don't hurt me.." I mumbled.

"I thought emos enjoyed pain.." One girl said.

"Jaina! She's not emo! Right?" Another girl looked towards me.

"Guys, gals, step back. She's scared." One guy said.

"Are you okay? Did the jocks do this to you?" He asked.

I shook my head as a tear trickled down my cheek.

"Oh my god... This is more serious than it seems," Some other guy said.

"Who then?" The girl referred to Jaina said.

"My... My," I swallowed hard, "Daddy.." I wept.

The room was shocked with silence.
Everyone from every lunch table was staring at me.

That was it.
That was all I could take.

I picked up my lunch and began walking to the bathroom, when a jock threw a banana peel under my feet.

I slipped, and fell flat on my back.
Everyone except that group of kids were laughing as my lunch flew through the air and onto my face.

I ran to the bathroom crying, and couldn't help but lock myself in there all day.

"Knock knock," I heard someone say, "is anyone there?" They asked. "It's me, Leah. I'm friends with Jaina, Jack, and Tommy?"

So that's their names.

"Go away," I said. I can't believe I'm turning down the only people welcoming me.

"Oh, come on. I was just asking if you wanted to join us for fro yo after school?" She said.

"Sure," I said, "thanks."
