"Y-yeah, don't worry, he's with us

"Y-yeah, don't worry, he's with us. He’s just been busy with exams and stuff," Leehan said, his voice steady as he assured Taesan's dad over the phone.

He ended the call with a sigh.

You might wonder why he didn’t tell the truth. After all, they were Taesan's parents—they deserved to know. But Leehan knew better. Taesan’s parents had endured too much pain because of their son in the past. The weight of that suffering lingered, and Leehan couldn’t bring himself to burden them further. He knew the truth would surface eventually, but for now, it was better this way...

Three days had passed, and still, there was no sign of their missing friends. Every plea for help was met with disbelief. “You’re just kids,” they said, dismissing them with indifference.

Sungho sat alone, the frustration gnawing at his resolve. He had tried everything—asking questions, retracing their steps—but nothing worked. He felt powerless. The crushing weight of his inability to protect the people he cared about was suffocating.

Unable to sit still any longer, he decided to go for a walk.

The streets were eerily quiet for this time of evening. As he wandered, his gaze landed on a jewelry shop. Something about it tugged at his thoughts. He stared at the display, lost in a whirlwind of memories. Then, his eyes caught sight of a wristwatch.

“Wait a second...”

A realization struck him. Without wasting another moment, he rushed towards Riwoo’s dorm.

"Sorry to bother you, but can I check Riwoo’s belongings for a second?" Sungho asked breathlessly when Riwoo’s roommate opened the door.

The other hesitated but eventually nodded, allowing him inside. Sungho sifted through the scattered items, his hands shaking slightly as he searched.

Finally, after ten minutes, he found it. "Got it," he murmured, clutching the object tightly.

"Thank you so much," he said before hurrying out the door.

Back at his room, Sungho placed the items he had collected on his desk. He called Leehan and Woonhak, urging them to come over immediately.

When they arrived, they found Sungho pacing.

"Hyung, what’s going on? Why’d you call us here?" Leehan asked, sitting on the couch near the table.

"Did you bring Taesan’s ring like I asked?" Sungho replied.

Leehan nodded, pulling the ring from his pocket and handing it over.

Sungho examined the ring closely before gesturing to the items scattered on the table.

"Look at this," he said, his voice firm. "Everything is connected. The wristwatch we found near the river where she supposedly drowned. Taesan’s ring in the alley where he disappeared. Jaehyun’s earring at the scene of his vanishing. And now, Riwoo’s missing glasses. It’s all tied together."

Leehan frowned. "Are you saying all of this leads back to her?"

Sungho nodded grimly. "I can’t be certain, but I have a strong feeling it does. And if it does, then we need to figure out how. No one else is going to help us, so it’s up to us."

"Her? Who is her? Can you guys please explain? I’m completely lost here," Woonhak said, his frustration evident.

Leehan sighed before speaking.
"Her. It all started with her…"

"Are you going to confess today?" Jaehyun asked, gasping dramatically.

"Can you all stop? Who keeps spreading these rumors?" Taesan replied, shaking his head in exasperation.

"Who else? Obviously the one you share all your dirty little secrets with."

"W-what secrets? What are you even talking about?" Taesan stammered, his voice low but defensive.

"Bro, it’s Leehan who told me. And I’m mad at you for not letting me know earlier. I could’ve brought flower petals or something to make it more romantic," Jaehyun teased with a smirk.

"I swear I’m going to do something to him one day," Taesan muttered under his breath, cursing Leehan silently.

"Super shy, super shy," Jaehyun sang, his teasing relentless.

"But wait a minute while I make you mine, make you mine," Leehan chimed in from the distance, grinning mischievously.

"It would have been better if I never befriended such weirdos," Taesan mumbled, standing up to leave.

Jaehyun and Leehan burst into laughter, watching Taesan try to escape the embarrassment.

As Taesan walked ahead, a small smile tugged at his lips. Behind him, Leehan and Jaehyun ran to catch up, their laughter echoing in the surroundings.
