Marlene's POV:

It's been a week since the last time I saw Lydia. I was watching her sit at a park when that other girl came. She's a vampire hunter, not a very good one but she's committed to her craft. Friends of mine have seen her snooping about near vampire areas since she was... 32? 67? What age are the little ones that don't look like normal humans yet? I don't remember. I'm very old. I digress, what I'm saying is that Lydia shouldn't be associating with her kind.

The reason it's been a week is that I've realised there's no other option to get over her. I'm never going to be able to approach her or talk to her, for many reasons. So I've been in total isolation this past week.

There's a knock at my door. I genuinely wonder who it could be; I have no close friends or family and no one's been inside this castle but me for years. When I make it downstairs and open the door I see an unexpected face

Marlene: "Oh Annysa! W-what are you doing here?"

I tighten my dressing gown and run my fingers through my hair. For some reason I didn't think to neaten myself up before opening the door, perhaps I just didn't believe anyone was going to be there.

Annysa: "Can I come in?"
Marlene: "I don't see why not, would you like a cup of blood?"
Annysa: "I um kinda need you to say that i can come in."
Marlene: "Oh of course, I apologise. You may come in."

She smiles and enters. She sits on the couch and I put blood into two mugs and bring it over, eventually sitting down too.

Marlene: "Did you need to talk to me about anything?"
Annysa: "Not really. Just came for a catch-up."
Marlene: "Is that so? How come you've never done this before?"
Annysa: "Oh I have."

She smiles at me and I instantly understand what's really happening.
I'm ashamed to say that after we broke up, that wasn't the last time me and Annysa... enjoyed each others company. A voice in my head is telling me that this is a good way to get over Lydia.
Another is telling me I'd rather gouge my own eyes out.

Annysa: "You seem stressed out."
Marlene: "I have food poisoning?"
She's coming closer.
Annysa: "You don't eat food."
Marlene: "Smackhead blood."
Annysa: "What's going on with you?"
She starts to undo my dressing gown.
Marlene: "I don't know what you're talking about."
Annysa: "Okay then, that doesn't matter right now. As long as you don't like another gir-"
Marlene: "I like another girl."

That finally got her to stop. She moves back. I catch my breath.

Annysa: "Are you joking?"
Marlene: "We haven't been together in like a decade Annysa. Get over it."
Annysa: "Who's this new girl then? If you're choosing her over me rainbows better shoot out her fucking arse 'cause no fucking way."
Marlene: "She's no one, now please leave."
Annysa: "Fine. Be like that."
