So i decided to post the rest of what i wrote earlier today. I don't know why i didn't just do it all at once but anyways, here you go :)
I had the next day off, and had all day to contemplate the evening’s events. Okay so we didn’t kiss on the lips, but that wrist-grabbing thing he did made me go nuts. It sent a rush of butterflies up my stomach, which made up for the no kissing. I took my time getting dressed throwing on a pair of comfy sweats and a tank top. I made my way to the kitchen where Katie was finishing up with her toast.
“Was it good?” she asked without looking up.
“Was what good? My date?”
“The sex of course!” she shot me a look like I was stupid.
“Excuse me??” I couldn’t believe that my ten-year-old sister was talking like this. But it made me very self-conscious about the fact that I didn’t even get a kiss out of him. Ignoring whatever she was about to say I grabbed out a pop tart and raced back upstairs. My cell started ringing as soon as I was back in the retreat of my own room. I made a mad leap towards it hoping that it was Matt.
“Hello,” I said with more excitement than necessary.
“Fun night?” a familiar voice asked. But much to my disappointment it was Chloe instead.
“You have no idea.” I began my story of the night’s events. Of course I kept some parts to myself, but I knew that Chloe would have fun reanalyzing everything I already had. It turned out to be a two-hour conversation, and by the time it was coming to an end I was ready for lunch. We said goodbye and made plans for the following night since she had to work. Right after I hung up my phone rang again. I was sure it was Chloe forgetting to say whatever the reason was that she called in the first place. Nine times out of ten that I talked to her she always had to call back. I didn’t even look at my caller i.d before answering.
“Now what?” I asked as I picked up in a joking bitchy manner.
“Jen?” a deeper voice than Chloe’s replied.
“Matt?” I couldn’t believe it. I was about to say more when he started again.
“Sorry. I didn’t mean to bother you. I can just call back later if you’d like, or not I guess.” He sounded a little hurt. Why didn’t I look at the caller i.d? I probably seemed like a total bitch.
“Oh my goodness. No I’m sorry. I thought you were someone else. My friend Chloe…she always calls back and I just got off the phone with her,” way to ramble Jen. “I don’t know why she called because all we talked about was last night and…” Oh shoot!
I heard a chuckle from the other line. I am such an idiot. Why can’t I just shut up before I say stupid things? I waited to hear what he would say. Probably thought I was a little gossip queen now.
“Was it good?”
“Huh?”
“Your guys’ talk about last night. How did it measure up to other dates you’ve been on? Because you know to me, the whole wave crashing up thing kind of added a little excitement. But that’s just me, what did you guys decide?”
Did I mention how amazing this guy is?! He knows just how to make me feel okay after I embarrass myself, which is often.
“Hmm. Well I normally get to compare it to another date to get a good idea. It may have just been a lucky night. Guess we might just have to try again.” I paused hoping this time I’d get the reply I wanted the first time after my advancement, unlike last night.
