Amelia knew she was in for a whirlwind of trouble. Dumbledore had given her a set of very explicit instructions and she had pretty much ignored all of them.
When she arrived at his office, she expected him to in a furious rage, raging on about how irresponsible she was, or at least be extremely disappointed in her.
What she did not expect was him to be sitting in his chair, blue eyes twinkling.
"Sherbet lemon?" he offered.
"No thankyou," Amelia said politely. "You wanted to see me?"
Dumbledore sighed. This was it. The big reckoning. The earful she was about to receive that she really didn't want to.
"I owe you an apology," he said.
Amelia blinked "what?" she uttered.
Dumbledore gestured to the chair that was in front of him, and Amelia cautiously sat down.
"When you told me your abilities, I thought it would be best to contain them, that perhaps if you didn't use them then they were fade away. However I was mistaken and you are just a child. You deserve to ...have the full Hogwarts experience even if that does mean playing quidditch,"
"Sir I'm really sorry I know you told me not to but Fred practically twisted my arm and-"
Dumbledore held up his hand "This is my apology to you, not vice versa. Though I will say that many people will not take kindly to you knowing everything about them. Especially those who you see nothing but pain with,"
Amelia sighed "I understand sir,"
"Do you?" asked Dumbledore "Because if you don't things can get quite ugly fairly quickly."
Amelia nodded "I understand. I'll stay away from Harry Potter."
Dumbledore gave her a swift smile "Now off you go, Lunch will be over soon and we can't have you going to class on an empty stomach,"
Amelia nodded, her stomach still turning slightly.
How the hell was she supposed to stay away from Harry when they were on the same team?
Care of Magical Creatures was a class that Amelia had been looking forward to for a while. She had yet to speak to Hagrid herself, but she had heard great things from her fellow Gryffindor's. The weather seemed perfect for the class, though a slightly chilly air, the breeze was crisp, and the sky sunny.
Ron had fallen out with Hermione again, but Amelia found herself grateful for it meant she could spend more time with her friend without disobeying Dumbledores orders.
"I mean it's not my fault Ron can't keep track of his pets!" Hermione sounded exasperated. Amelia smiled at her,
"Come on Hermione, it's Ron. He'll forget in five minutes, I wouldn't worry about it,"
Hagrid was waiting outside his hut, with a thick moleskin coat on and his dog, Fang, sat at his heels.
"That's a well cute dog," Amelia commented "He'd probably eat a rat too, how come Ron ain't having a go at him?"
Hermione let out a small chuckle.
"Righ' class. I got a righ' treat for ya. Great lesson coming, everyone gather round,"
Hagrid drew the class to some sort of paddock, an empty one at that.
"Now the first thing ya wanna do is open your books-"
