Amelia woke to someone shaking her. She blinked sleepily to see Hermione, who was dressed and ready with a distressed look on her face.
"Get up and dressed," she said urgently. Amelia shot up, presuming she was late for whatever class it was.
"What time is it?" she asked.
"7:30," replied Hermione and Amelia groaned. Class didn't start till nine, she had plenty of time.
"Hermione let me sleep," she moaned, falling back onto the sofa. Hermione shook her head.
"We were going to see Hagrid before class, see if he's okay," Hermione said lowly, as if not wanting other people to hear. Amelia sighed, getting up then soon regretting it as she saw black spots, causing her to stumble slightly.
Hermione caught her, and hurried her along to the girls dormitories.
Harry and Ron, who she had not even noticed stood behind the sofa.
"See it's like I'm invisible. One minute we're getting along and the next, she pretends I don exist. Have I done something?" Harry asked.
"Give her a break mate," Ron said absentmindedly as he thought about the conversation he had overheard last night. He could of sworn it was Dumbledore that had ordered her to stay away from Harry, but that couldn't be right could it?
He decided to ask Hermione about it when he next saw her alone.
A few minutes later, the girls were both back down, with Amelia still looking as exhausted as when she just woke up.
"Let's go," she said.
The walk to Hagrid's castle was an awkward one. Amelia kept looking over her shoulder, as if expecting an attack which didn't go unnoticed by Hermione and Ron. Harry of course was oblivious.
As they knocked on Hagrid's door they were met with a blubbering mess and then spent the next ten minutes trying to comfort him. Ron made some tea, Hermione went over the notes, and Amelia and Harry were going over separate plans to get their revenge on Malfoy.
As they waved goodbye to Hagrid, he patted Amelia's shoulder, pulling her away from the group to speak to her.
"Now I don't have a problem with you being friends with Harry, God knows ya need each other. But Dumbledore won't have much patience with it so you be careful alright?"
Amelia nodded sadly, she wasn't overly bothered, but she had noticed that Harry seemed upset when she left him out, she didn't want to upset anyone.
"Of course ya mother was exactly the same. Amaia and James were best friends. Never saw one without the other," Hagrid chuckled.
Amelia looked at him surprised. "They were that close?" she asked and Hagrid nodded.
"Run along now," he said and Amelia complied.
She started to wonder though, would her life have been much different if her parents and Harry's had lived? She probably would have grown up with each other, childhood friends.
She caught up to the group at the top of the hill,
"What did Hagrid want?" Ron asked. Amelia hesitated, she was usually good at thinking up cover stories on the spot, but she was getting rather tired of using them.
"Just wanted to clarify something I'd found for his case," she lied. Ron nodded, but he didn't seem convinced.
"Look at him blubber!" they heard Malfoy laugh, pointing and sniggering at a sobbing Hagrid who was now sat on his step outside his house, a handkerchief up to his face.
