Chapter 04: Their way or the highway

"Meet Amy and Sally, your PSGs." Irene said, coldly like the usual. Saoirse stopped walking and looked at her. "And?" She asked Irene with the same level of attitude.

Irene rolled her eyes at her. "They'll be going wherever you go, Saoirse." Irene said, making Saoirse shocked and confused. She don't know why it's necessary to have guards around her, following her and watching her every move.

"No way, Ms. Irene, I'm good." Saoirse refused. "Besides, I'll just go to Polo club, that's why I don't think it's necessary for me to be accompanied by them, no offense Sally and Amy." Saoirse said.

Irene scoffed audibly, glaring at her daughter. "It's either isasama mo sila or hindi kita papayagan lumabas ng bahay, take your pick my dear daughter, and believe me, I can be as stubborn as you are." Irene said with a sly smirk on her lips.

"What? That's totally absurd and idiotic!" She whined, crossing her arms. "It's either you go my way or no way, choose one, darling. C'mon mommy is waiting for your answer." Irene said.

Saoirse rolled her eyes at Irene, "I have Merlin and Dina, sila nalang isasama ko." Saoirse said before heading out. Irene spoke again, making her stopped from walking.

"No, you'll not bring them, meron ka ng bagong set ng driver, assistant, tutor, personal maid, and PSGs." Saoirse turned to look at her mother.

"What? Why? Are you out of your mind? You replaced all of them? That's stupid." She said, frustrated. "I know, I know, I just want the best for you, to keep you safe." Irene said.

"Keep safe my ass, you just replaced my lifetime employees, give me a very valid reason why you have to do that?" Saoirse said with an attitude.

"Wala akong tiwala sa mga empleyado ng mga Araneta." Irene said shortly. Saoirse scoffed, removing her sunglasses, looking at her really offended. "As one of the bosses of the employees you just replaced, I am deeply offended." Saoirse said.

"I don't care, bring those two with you, or you're not going anywhere?" Irene challenges her, Saoirse put her sunglasses again, rolling her eyes secretly.

"I'm not going with them." Saoirse said, stubbornly. "Then don't leave, end of discussion. Remember, I can just be as stubborn as you are." Irene said before leaving the livingroom.

Saoirse scoffed when Irene left, she sat on the armchair and threw her bag on the floor. "You're getting into my nerves!" Saoirse shouted, Amy and Sally flinched.

"You two, leave, ayaw ko na umalis." Saoirse said, frustrated. Her PSGs left her alone in the silent livingroom. She rubbed her forehead softly. "Kulang nalang talaga posas nasa kulungan na ako." She mumbled.

"I don't know kung maawa ako sa'yo or doon sa Dior na binato mo sa sahig." Saoirse looked at the person who spoke from behind. Saoirse raised a brow at Matt as she watched him pick up her bag from the floor.

"Kung si mommy ang nakakita niyan, for sure she will scold you." Saoirse scoffed at Matthew's side comment. "As if I care, what are you doing here ba kasi?" Saoirse asked him.

"I came here to invite you." Matt said while fidgeting his fingers. "Excuse me? Ako? You came here to invite me? Matthew, I know I look cool but I am boring, I don't do parties." Saoirse said, declining his invitation.

"Who said sa party? I want to invite you sa isang outreach program, the boys and I planned to join them, kaya nag isip kami na isama ka nalang, after all, you're the least busiest person I've met. Kaya I don't see a reason para tumanggi ka sa invitation ko." Matt clarified. Saoirse thought for awhile.

"Plus, Vinny told us na mahilig ka sa mga ganito, Via Benitez." Matt added, she glanced at him. "That cousin of ours is very madaldal, hindi na nakakatuwa." She said, standing up to dust off her pants.

She wore her sunglasses and headed to the main door. "Oh, saan ka pupunta?" Matt asked her, "don't make me change my mind, kapre, I have a short patience." She said as a guard opens the door for her.

"Hindi ka mag papaalam kay tita?" Matt asked her, "sasama ako o hindi ako papayagan, mamili ka." Saoirse said, making Matthew gulped nervously.

"S-sabi ko nga, ipagpapaalam kita." Matt said, "thought so, let's go ayaw kong maging cause of delay 'yang kabagalan mo." She said, Matthew followed her to his car.

"Will the eight of us fit dito sa car mo?" She asked him, "No, sinundo lang talaga kita, nay service tayo papuntang Quezon Province." Saoirse just simply nodded her head, watching the scenery outside the car.

After a few minutes, they arrived at the station where they'll meet the other participants. "Wait he convinced you?" Vinny asked Saoirse as he greeted her with a beso.

"Let's not have our chikahan outside, let's go inside the bus kasi it's mainit." She said, ignoring Vinny's question. Her cousins followed her, she thought that she'll be with her cousins only, but she was wrong, she's totally surrounded by strangers.

"Oh wow." She said, not amuse at all. She decided to sat on a vacant chair near the window. She felt someone occupied the next seat beside her. She saw Simon just beside her, wearing his earpods.

Simon noticed how his cousin sat anxiously on her seat. "Is it your first time riding a bus?" He asked her, she looked at him as she chug the whole bottle of water.

"It's none of your business." She said while closing the bottle. "Why would it not be my business? Saoirse sana sinabi mo na pinasabay ka nalang namin kay pops." He said with full authority.

"Can you stop being madaldal!" She whispered at him, "how can I? Do you think I want my cousin to get uncomfortable sa pag travel?" Simon asked her.

"Can you stop being paranoid? Hindi ko ito ikamamatay Simon!" She confronted him, whispering so they'll not gain some attention.

"How will I? Baka magalit si Tita!" He said,  Saoirse just rolled her eyes ignoring his words. "I don't give a damn, kung papagalitan rin naman ao pag uwi, then I'll enjoy this day." She said.

"And besides, kung wala kang balak tumahik buong biyehe, say goodbye to your tongue kasi baka maputol ko yan ng wala sa oras, it's either you will shut your mouth o mawawalan ka ng dila? Answer me dear Cousin, and believe me, I can be as evil as you imagined." Saoirse  said, Simon shut his mouth and vibed with the music.

"Wait, Si, why are you so tahimik? Bago to ah." Sandro asked him as he gave them some snacks. "shhh, kuya I love my tongue, ok, as much as I love my precious voice, just shut up and leave us alone." He said.

"Yow, chill, I just came here to give you some snacks." Sandro said before leaving them alone. "Do you want?" Simon offered some chocolates. "Diabetic ako, I maintain my sugars." Saoirse declined, politely.

A few minutes later, Simon felt something on his shoulder. "Matutulog, rin pala, ang dami pang sinabi." He whispered as he looked at Saoirse. As he was looking, a scar caught his eyes.

It was big, deep, and covered by make up. He can't help but to wonder where she get it, and how she get it.
