Forgiveness (Kazuscara)

Chapter II

The same day after class, Kazuha texted Aether about wanting to meet up with him the soonest it was possible. Aether agreed to grab a drink at Starducks with him. After ordering, they went to a calm park and sat on the ground.

"- So, Aether, I wanted to talk to you-

- Oh don't worry Kazuha, Scaramouche told me about you !

-... What did he say exactly...?

- You know, it's okay to feel like that, and I'm sorry for not returning your feelings, but please do not hate Scaramouche because of that !

- ...What feelings ?" Kazuha asked, completely lost.

"- Well, Scaramouche told me that if you acted like that this morning, it's because you have feelings for me and you are jealous of him because of that... Don't worry I completely understand and I really like you too, but I'm happy with Scaram-

- ...I'm gonna kill that fucking bastard.

- Huh ?"

Kazuha clenched his fists and breathed out slowly. Scaramouche was really testing his patience.

"- You've got this all wrong Aether. I do care a lot about you, but my feelings towards you have never surpassed friendly affection. Your asshole of a boyfriend just told you shitty stuff because he thinks it's funny.

- But, why do you hate Scaramouche so much then ? I noticed that it's only when you're talking about him that you become vulgar...

- He didn't tell you ? We used to date back in high school...

- Oh..."

Kazuha took a sip of his drink.

"- My time with him just left me with really bad memories to be honest... And I can't force you to do anything but please be careful with him... I guess he always talks to you in that honey-sweet voice with that smile on his face and puts on a sad expression every time you do something he doesn't appreciate ?  It's all acting. Very good acting.

- But- he's so nice with me...

- I know... Please, just try to not get too attached. I guess you can still enjoy your time with him but try to think about the fact that he might not be as loving as you think... I won't prevent you from doing anything with him but I'm just asking you to be careful... Do with that advice whatever you wish. Well then, I'm going to go. Have a nice day Aether, see you tomorrow !"

Kazuha just waved at Aether and left, leaving the poor blonde boy quite confused.

The days after this conversation, everything looked normal on the outside. Aether, despite being confused about Scaramouche's past, had decided to act normal with his boyfriend.

On Kazuha's side, he realized that Xiao was right : he could often see Scaramouche flirt with different people, mostly guys but some of them were girls too. This made the platinum-haired angry : he didn't change a single bit in all this years, he was incapable of committing to a relationship with a single person...

But Kazuha also noticed that Scaramouche tended to flirt with even more people when he knew Kazuha was around, and he always smirked at him afterwards. Still mad at him for his bad joke about him having feelings for Aether, Kazuha hated Scaramouche even more than before, so he usually just flipped him off and left. He enjoyed a lot seeing Scaramouche's hardly hidden disappointed face when seeing Kazuha's hatred.

Kazuha, who was sitting on the floor eating his sandwich, didn't even bother answering the silky voice calling out to him.
