"Chapter nine"

Monday 17.7.23

Avril was sleeping peacefully at five a.m. when he was awaken by his clock that was ringing. He looked at it before accepting the call. He kinda knew why they were calling him. "Yes Mrs. Aerona what do you need from me" Avril yawned loudly. "I think you know why. There was one specific thing that I didn't allow you and you did it anyways." Aerona said slightly angered. Avril looked aside, he knew he wasn't allowed but he couldn't tell Hoshi to stop what he's doing without confusing him and having to tell him what's going on. "My apologies but I couldn't stop Hoshi at that point." Avril looked back at the clock and apologized. "I'm not mad about you wanting to see Ryo. It's just that it made him end up in danger." When Avril heard that sentence he started to feel concerned and then suddenly angry. "It's not my fault that another one of our kind chased after him! If he was really in danger then you should've called me sooner!" Avril started yelling which made his ruler really mad. "And I already took a look in his future and he smashed the monster so he's fine now!" Avril yelled to Aerona and then quickly ended the call. He got out of bed and walked to the kitchen. He took the strawberry cake that Hoshi bought yesterday out of the fridge. Avril also made some tea. "Mhm..." Hoshi walked in the kitchen tired as hell, he yawned quietly. "Avril..why were you yelling?" Hoshi looked at Avril with tired eyes. "I was sleep talking." Avril didn't even hesitate and came up with the quickest lie he could think of. "I- alright.." Hoshi walked to the coffee machine and made some coffee for himself. "You know kiddo, I've been thinking. Maybe we should go to the supernatural world!" Avril smiled and floated towards Hoshi. "Seems like an interesting idea but... don't some supernaturals eat humans?" Hoshi tilted his head slightly. Avril then thought about it and well he did wanna show Hoshi his restaurant and the stuff down there but it was definitely dangerous. "I can protect you! I really wouldn't mind!" Avril ate some of the cake while replying to Hoshi. "I don't think we should go yet" Hoshi shook his and started drinking his coffee. For a couple seconds there was this awkward silence silence between Hoshi and Avril. They may have hang out a couple times but they don't know anything about eachother, like at all. Hoshi was close to Akemi,right? Maybe they're still close friends or even more. "So how is the thing between you and Akemi?" Avril asked but Hoshi's reaction to that question wasn't what he was expecting, Hoshi started chocking on his coffee, Avril floated to him and hit his back for him to stop chocking, it luckily worked. "Akemi? Oh- me and her stopped talking eversince we escaped from that place." Hoshi replied while sighing slightly. Avril looked shocked even his jaw dropped. The lovely-dovey couple looking duo doesn't talk to eachother anymore?! That was news for Avril for sure. "WHAT- I mean.. what happened?" Avril asked with a slight loud voice. "I'd rather not talk about it.." Hoshi looked away but then suddenly felt a cold hug from Avril. "Sorry for bringing it up." Avril apologized. "It's okay you couldn't possibly know. Now what are you plans for today?" Hoshi patted Avril before starting to cook breakfast for them. "I actually planned to go to the undercity but since you didn't want to-" Avril got slightly sad while eating his strawberry cake. "How about we do something more fun?" Hoshi smiled and held up a knife. "Hoshi you should put the knife down because you look like you're going to chop the next person's head off that enters the room-" Avril looked at Hoshi slightly concerned. Avril at this point started to think that it wasn't only Hoshi's sister who has mental health problems, but he guessed that this happens to him less than to Kitsune. "Well how about we go shopping!" Hoshi suggested while still making sure that the breakfast is served in time. "Shopping? I mean yeah we could but I don't have any money.." Avril looked down at the table, oh how he wished that the money in the undercity worked up here in the human world. "We can use mine." Hoshi smiled and then served the food for both of them. "You can't have that much money-" Avril looks around before continuing to say what he was going to say. Everything here looked pretty expensive, also not everyone could afford to have a giant pool outside and jacuzzi tub. Most actors make good money just by acting in a film so Avril wasn't that suprised, but he didn't expect Hoshi to cook for himself after all some rich people hire chefs to cook. Avril took a bite of the fancy looking dish that Hoshi made, it was tasty, very tasty in fact. "Where did you learn to cook- this stuff is amazing" Avril's eyes sparkled which made Hoshi chuckle a bit. "I learned it by myself. I often had to cook for myself and Kitsune." Hoshi replied thinking back at the good memories before Kitsune died. "Hoshi. If we decide to go to the undercity one day, I promise that I'll let you see her, okay?" As Avril was finishing his sentence, saw Hoshi's eyes tear up. He immediately panicked, he didn't wanna see Hoshi cry so he floated towards him a hugged him tight. He felt Hoshi hug him back when he wanted to say something he heard Hoshi whisper "Thank you Avril" into his ear. "Don't worry kiddo! Avril got your back!" Avril patted Hoshi's back. "Let's go shopping now!" Avril smiled and grabbed Hoshi's arm before Hoshi stopping him. "We should change out of our sleeping clothes, shall we?" Avril nodded when Hoshi suggested that. They quickly went to their rooms and changed into their streetwear. Before going shopping Hoshi grabbed his wallet and a black mask which he quickly put on.
After a long drive with taxi to the mall Hoshi and Avril started walking around. Avril suprisingly enjoyed shopping with Hoshi, they looked at some clothes together made fun jokes, it was something that Avril never wanted to lose. They ended up looking through some more darker clothes. "Are you planing to buy some of these?" Hoshi looked at the t-shirts. "No. It just remind me of my boyfriend and the clothes he wears." Avril sighed, he did really miss his boyfriend and he really wanted to see him. "I mean if looking through clothes that remind you of him makes you happy then I don't mind!" Hoshi fixed his mask and started looking through the shirts too. They kept looking through the clothes while Avril telling stories of him and his boyfriend. "He'd also sometimes wear these." Avril random maybe accidentally grabs a lingerie and shows it to Hoshi. "mhm.. the quality seems very good though." Before Hoshi could take a closer look Avril quickly puts it back. "Aren't you a bit too young for that kiddo?" Avril tilts his head while smiling. "I'm literally older than you." Hoshi looks at Avril unimpressed. Avril was confused don't rich kids get their first own house at 15 or 16? Well not in every case. "These look good too.." Hoshi just keeps looking at the stuff there is before Avril picking him up by making him float. "Wo- WOAHHH" Avril as a joke floated Hoshi to the other side of the shop, he was laughing before he saw someone pass by. He turned around and looked at the person, it took him a couple seconds to realise who it was. "NIKITA!!" Avril's eyes sparkled from joy and excitement, he quickly hugged Nikita eventhough he couldn't see him or feel him like Ryo did, he was still happy. Avril started following N around when he tried on something he'd check it out and judge if he liked it or not. Eventually N walked out of the shop and Avril without thinking followed him, completely forgetting about Hoshi. This went for a while till Avril finally realised. "Where is the kiddo-" Avril panicked and started looking around he could find Hoshi that easily at this big ass mall, he decided to use his powers. Avril put his palms together and activated his power while closing his eyes as well, his soul was glowing with a light blue colour. He let out a small wave of slightly blue light then he opened his eyes and looked at Nikita to see if his powers worked. "Atleast I didn't forget how to stop time" Avril smiled and before going gave a little kiss on N's forehead. He started running through the entire building which was tiring if he stopped then his powers would turn off and he can't use it again because that would cost more of his energy. Avril looked through every shop, every hall, even the restroom but he couldn't find him. He decided to check outside but still no Hoshi to be found, so he ran back inside. Avril was trying to hang on but accidentally tripped and fell, making the time unstop and everything going back to normal. "Shit!" Avril yelled out loud, if Aerona finds out that he lost Hoshi and also failed his mission that wouldn't end good for neither Avril nor Hoshi so he quickly stood up. "Maybe I could call one of my co-workers..mhm.. nah she's probably busy doing other stuff" Avril after finishing that sentence felt a tap on his shoulder, he turned around. "You need to call who?" The person asked who tapped his shoulder. "I- AKIRUKI?!" Avril eyes widen well that was unexpected. "Let me guess you lost Hoshi again-" Akiruki helped Avril to stand up. "Yeah.." Avril admitted while looking at the floor. Akiruki quickly looks around and sends out a slight tracking wave to track the area down. "He's currently looking for you in the sport shop. Especially the mountain climbing ile." Akiruki points to the directions of the shop. "Why are your powers better than mine!!" Avril crossed his arms. "I mean the purpose of hours is better but I guess my powers can be more powerful. Must be because I don't have a second job aka a restaurant while having to do missions." Akiruki replied. "But you even know what people think or how they feel deep inside!" Avril looked kinda jealous about it. "Well with the only three braincells of yours it will be difficult to obtain it anyway bye bye" Akiruki disappearer before Avril could say something. Avril floated in the shop and immediately spotted Hoshi. "Hoshi!!" Avril yelled which made Hoshi turn around. Avril quickly floated towards Hoshi and floated as fast he could towards Hoshi and hugged him to the point where Hoshi fell down to the floor. To be honest to the normal eye it just looked Hoshi fainted. "Sir are you okay?" A worker asked and Hoshi quickly got up while Avril is still hugging him like a teddy bear. "Yes I'm fine no need to be worried." Hoshi walked out of the shop quietly. Hoshi put Avril down at a corner and looked at him slightly mad. "What were you thinking?? Going somewhere without me knowing? Have you not learned it the first time you did it??" Hoshi to Avril's eyes looked like someone who just lost their random child at the mall and was happy and mad that he found them. "But atleast you're save and fine! You got me worried like crazy!" Hoshi sighed in relief. "Should we look in other stores or is this all for today?" Hoshi asked and started walking while Avril followed him. "I wanna look into that shop!" Avril pointed at one. As they walked in they started talking and looking around the clothes.
"How can someone talk to themselves this openly.." A feminine voice asked the person next to herself that wasn't her. "Maybe they have airpods in their ear, Akemi." Kochiya looked at Akemi while basically sitting right next to her.
