Chapter 23

(TW: mention of fainting, struggling with eating, abuse the f* slur)

Charlie's POV:

Nick came over and when he sat on the bathroom floor next to me, I just instantly laid down on his lap and went to sleep, I don't know what it is about him that makes me feel so safe. I felt nick's rugby arms pick me up and put me in to bed and then I felt the most unexpected but comforting thing happened to me. Nick kissed my forehead. NICK NELSON, THE RUGBY KING JUST KISSED ME, and it felt amazing. Nick left the room shortly after and I went straight to sleep having these new feelings about Nick.

Niall's POV:

After nick left that night. All us boys went up to Charlie's room to check on him. I knocked on the door and there was no answer, but Nick did leave the door slightly open I peeked my head in and saw Charlie was fast asleep in his bed. "I think we should talk to him in the morning and just let him sleep now" I suggested to the rest of the boys. They all agreed, and I shut Charlie's door and we all went to our rooms. I couldn't help but think about Charlie. He has been struggling and he was too scared to talk to us about it. I know that he won't talk to us about so we need to help him as best as we can, I just want Charlie to be comfortable around us.

~the next morning~

I could hear Charlie screaming and I immediately woke up and ran over to his room, I opened his door, and he was crying on his floor curled up in a ball. "Charlie what's going on?" I try help him up, but he just curls up tighter in a ball. "DON'T TOUCH ME" he screams, and I step away from him a little bit. "Charlie where is your phone?" I ask him, I think Nick ca help Charlie better than me, he seems to know Charlie and how to help him in any situation I need him here now. Charlie pointed to where it was, and I immediately unlocked it and called Nick.

Nick: Hello?

Niall: hi Nick, it's Niall. I know it's early in the morning but are you able to come over to the house? Charlie keeps screaming and he's curled up in a ball on the floor. I don't know what to do I tried to help him up but when I touched him, he screamed at me and told me not to touch him. I'm so worried about him.

Nick: I will be over immediately.

Niall: thank you Nick.

I sit on the floor with Charlie and wait for Nick to arrive. Louis was the only other one up, so I told him to let Nick in as soon as he got here, and he did. Nick opened the door and saw what I was talking about, Charlie curled up in a ball screaming. I moved out the way so Nick could be next to Charlie. "Shhh Charlie it's okay, you're having a nightmare. Calm down char" he spoke so softly to Charlie; he seemed so good to Charlie. I feel like there is something going on between them, but I don't know, honestly if they were together, it would be perfect. Charlie stopped screaming and started slowly uncurling himself and looked up and looked at nick. "Hey char, why we're screaming? What was that bad dream about? Nick had the same concerned look on his face as I did.

"Ben" Charlie hid In Nick's chest. Nick looked mad and he looked Charlie in the eyes. "Today is the day you need to break up with Ben because he is causing you too much pain and i promise I will be with you when you break up with him" Nick told Charlie with a stern tone. Charlie nodded and went back to hiding in nicks chest. I looked at nick and gave him a smile before I got up off the floor and left Nick and Charlie alone. Louis looked at me when I got into the kitchen. "Why was Charlie screaming so loud this morning?" Loud asked, his voice groggy from being just woken up. "Charlie was having a nightmare, and it was to do with the guy he is dating Ben" I explained quietly.

About 25 minutes into my second cup of coffee I heard footsteps coming downstairs and it was Nick and Charlie, nick was holding onto Charlie's hand, and he brought him into the kitchen and sat down at the table next to him, Louis and I sat down with them. "Charlie wants to talk to everyone please" nick announced, Charlie sat there shaking but Nick tried his best to help him not feel so nervous. Louis went upstairs and woke everyone up and they all came downstairs and sat at the table.
