A week has passed from Mark and Winter's last encounter. Celine stayed with Winter and currently still is. In that week Mark had time to reflect on what happened that day. He started to think about his past with Celine, his friends and family. He was thinking about how he interacted his peers and them to him.
He got up from his seat to the many pictures on his wall. One caught his attention. The picture was of a group picture of when himself, Celine, Winter, the District Attorney, Damien, and the Colonel. The picture was of a picnic they had at the park about two years ago. He smiled at the picture, his smile suddenly fell when he noticed a certain pair of eyes looking at Celine, lovingly.
"That's it." Mark grumbled as he stomped away from the picture to grab his coat on the table next to the couch. He put on the coat and before he made it to the front door he was stopped by his butler, Benjamin. "Sir, where are you going?" Ben asked noticing a distort look on Mark's face. "I'm going to run some errands, I will be back within the next hour." Mark says sternly.
He opens the door and slams it shut causing something to fall making a crash noise. This made Ben flinch and walk towards the sound. He soon saw a picture on the floor, the same picture Mark was looking at. Ben picked up the picture and examined it. In doing so he stopped at the same pair of eyes Mark noticed. Ben gulped nervously, now knowing what 'errands' Mark was running. Ben placed the surprising not broken picture back on the wall, the picture of a friend group at a picnic and a pair of eyes looking at Celine, in a loving way...
Winter's eyes looking at Celine, in a loving way...
Mark slammed the car door and made his way to the front door of Winter's house. He knocked on the front door, not getting a response he knocked on the door harder. "The door is open, Mark!" He heard Winter shout. Mark enters the house seeing Winter in a chair by the window reading a book. "How did you know it was me?" Mark asked.
"I recognized your footsteps." Winter says not looking up from her book. "What do you need Mark? I know you didn't come here to ask to barrow some sugar. So, what is it?" Winter asks closing her book. "Is Celine here, I won't talk if she is here." "No she is not here, she had to run to the store for ingredients for dinner tonight."
Mark sighs "Winter are you in love with Celine?" Mark ask's honestly. His words surprised Winter "What are you going on about?" "Don't play dumb with me. Are you in love with Celine!?" Mark raises his voice immediately waiting for her answer. Winter stayed silent. "Answer me!" Mark yelled grabbing her arm and lifting her from her chair, bringing her closer to him. Winter flinched and pushed him away from her "You know damn well the answer to that question." Winter responds turning to look out the window.
"How long?" Mark asks his hands turning into fist. "How long havre you loved her." He frantically asked. "Since the first day I met her." Winter looks dreamily out of the window, remembering the first time she met the one she loved. "Is that the only reason you came here? To berate me about who I love." Winter says snapping out of her trance. "If you love her why are you helping me?" Mark asks genuinely confused. "Im not helping you for you, I'm helping you for Celine's sake. I want her to be happy." Winter responded, her words only being partly true.
"If you want her to be happy, why aren't you helping the Colonel with Celine, or have Celine all to yourself if you love her so much!" Mark shouts. "You don't think I want to!" Winter turns and shouts at Mark. Winter's irises turn from a dark chocolate brown to a glowing white color and her hands illuminate bright white. Noticing this Mark widened his eyes and took a small step back.
"I've been living a lie, a metaphorical scheme. Detective undercover, sisterhood, objective, obscene!" Winter shouts at Mark. "Mark, others don't expect people like me. You are only comfortable with it because you were exposed to it through me, but that doesn't change other people's perspective on my 'situation'." Winter states calming down from her outburst.
"If that is the case why help me?" Mark steps closer to Winter placing a hand on her shoulder. "Like I said before, to try and make her happy." Mark tilts his head to the side and narrows his eyes at her. He scoffs. "We both know that is not the whole reason why you are helping me, so what is it? Why are you helping me?" Mark lets go of Winter's shoulder and crosses his arms. Winter looks Mark in his eyes, he sees something in her eyes that he has never seen in her before, and that scared him.
"Control."
Before Mark could respond, Winter touches Mark's temples, white wisps flowing into Marks head. She pushes his body onto the couch, allowing him to relax. Winter sighs looking at Marks body. "I guess plans will have to start sooner than I imagined." Winter mumbles to herself. She puts her hands near his temples, allowing her power to flow int his mind. Marks eyes grew a brighter white. Winter smiles.
"Looks like it time for you to learn your lesson."
