Grass rustling by his ears slowly brings Wesley to as he hears voices that he doesn't quite recognize.
Was he at the hospital?
He opens his eyes to see the blurry outline of five people looking down at him. His eyes flutters as he tries to make his vision go back to normal but before he does, he hears a familiar voice.
"Is he dead?" His father's voice radiates through his ears.
"Dad?" He mutters out causing an uproar amongst the people around him as his eyesight goes back to normal.
It reveals five boys standing around him. He recognizes two of them as his dad's high school best friends: Louis and Liam. He recognizes another as one of his mom's high school best friends, Harry.
There was one guy though that he didn't recognize at all. The guy had black hair, eyes brown like honey and a face so gorgeous that it would make angels cry.
The last guy standing over him was his dad but he didn't quite look like him. His face looked a lot younger, almost like a baby, while his hair was dyed blonde and regret wasn't smeared across his face.
"You hear that, Ni?" Louis said with a foolish grin on his face. "He called you dad!"
Harry hits him in the arm as he says "He just hit his head, dude! He's probably all confused,".
"Just help him sit up," Liam said being the voice of reason that they all need. Whether they like to admit it or not.
Niall and the mystery guy help him sit up as Liam brings him a bottle of water and takes the cap off . He hands it to him then says "Have a sip of this,".
Wesley grabs the bottle out of his hand then takes a couple sips as he looks around the field to see a bunch of high school boys that he doesn't recognize.
"What's going on?" Wesley asked as he looked back at the boys in front of him. "Why are there so many people? Why are you guys here?"
"It's soccer practice," Louis said in a tone like Wesley should know exactly what they're doing. "We got a big game coming up this Friday. Gotta prepare."
Wesley shakes his head and says "No, that's not until next week. But you guys wouldn't be here for that."
He looks over at Niall with confusion written all over his face as he asks "What's going on, dad? Why are you blonde? Was I knocked out for that long?"
Silence falls over the boys as they all just stare at him trying to figure out who he is and where he came from. They were in the middle of practice and he just kind of appeared out of nowhere.
Niall looks at him a bit longer than the rest as he tries to figure out why he's calling him dad.
"I think we need to get him to the nurse," Liam says as he stands up and motions for the boys to help him up.
