Somehow... Edward found himself outside the castle. He really is getting tired of this. No matter how many times he told the others about it, they waved off his worry about the castle trying to get rid of him. No matter how many twists and turns he took to avoid it's many traps, Edward keeps finding himself getting lost... and promptly either outside or on the roof.

There has.... been some occasions that he swore the castle really tried to kill him. The suits of armor suddenly dropping their weapons, one occasion nearly nicking his nose. Another occasion, Edward found himself in a seemingly abandoned passageway that led into a classroom that was filled with plants that wanted to kill him. (Fire promptly took care of that.) Even then, majority of the staff simply assumed he hit his head again or assumed it's Alchemy related... or Elric related.

That last one tends to be the answer of many things in his life.... The Elric kind of bullshitery. It's a perfectly reasonable response to anything related to him or Alphonse.

Edward looked forward and decided to walk around the garden to head out of the school grounds. Maybe take a trip over to Hogsmeade. He's been meaning to get some supplies for Xerxes. With that in mind... he started his journey into town.. if only it was that easy.

In any Elric fashion... Edward took a massive bad turn and walked right into the forbidden forest...

Running, constant running. Edward never knew spiders could get that big. Let alone dig themselves into the earth and pouch out into their target with such speeds. He really wishes he has his alchemy to fight them off, but no dice. All he must do, is run. No weapons on him to fully fight back so running is the only option.

"TRUUUUTH!!!!!!!!!!!"

Edward continued running further in the forest without much delay. The deeper he started to see things he'd never thought he'd start to see things he'd never expect to see. Old camps that contained cages and the like. Were there people hunting in the forest?

Edward turned around just to see that he's no longer being chased by the spiders. He came to a stop to investigate one of the camps he found. It contained more life than the other's he ran past earlier during the chase.

"Help... please... someone."

Edward felt the hairs of the back of his neck risen as goosebumps spread throughout his body. The voice clearly young... childlike. Pleading out for help or respite. With trepidation, Edward slowly turned the direction of the voice. It continued to plead out for help from someone... anyone. Asking for help. Asking for their mom or dad. Anyone.

A broken sob from the unknown caused Edward to temporarily break from his trance to check out what or who is making the voice... and what he saw broke his heart.

A centaur, a young one at that. Even if it's a being that is the norm within the magical community... the sight has him reminding him of a young girl and her loyal companion. 'This is different. Keep your wits about you... this is different...'

"A human...? Please don't hurt me..." The young fowl pleaded, trying to get away from Edward but couldn't get far. The poor thing appeared to have walked into an old trap with one of its legs.

"I'm not here to hurt you. Just.... stay still. I'll get you out of that thing." Edward said in a soft voice, raising his hands in peace.

"Why should I trust you?"

"It's either trusting me, or the spiders that's been chasing me around... choice is yours? Look, I want to help you." Edward murmured; he slowly approached the young centaur. He saw that the young fowl is tangled badly onto knotted rope. He glanced around hoping to find something to cut the rope. He did manage to find a rusty pocketknife and started to get to work in freeing the now silent centaur. "That isn't so bad... how did you get into this much trouble?"

"...I wanted to see if I could find something to make a bow..."

"How about this, I work in the school. I could make you a bow or at least get you supplies to make one. Talk to Hagrid to set a meeting. Better that than getting stuck like this..."

"You are a strange human. Momma always said to not trust humans."

"She's right, humans are despicable, horrid and not ideal to be around for long periods of time or you'd lose your sanity. I lost mine a long time ago."

"...aren't you human?"

"Oh. I'm worse. I'm an alchemist."
