"i'll fall apart."

oikawa was laying his head down on his desk in class 3-6. class had ended, so the students were supposed to be cleaning, but oikawa's had a long day. let the man rest.
since it was monday, this is when his admirers took the most action. they've had the weekend to plan their confessions and prepare their thoughtless gifts for him, all to be ready on monday with the hopes and dreams of him asking them out on a date or giving them his number. that never happens though. he just smiles and accepts their words and love potions, then forgets about it (and gives their gifts to his teammates).
in addition, oikawa was also feeling wary of his therapy appointment today. his first one. he didn't know what to expect, and if he'd even be able to take it seriously. he'd do it for his team, he supposed.
"thank you, get home safe," a low voice spoke outside the classroom. oikawa's ears perked up at the familiarity of it, recognizing it to be iwaizumi's.
"you too." this was a voice oikawa was less familiar with, but he still recognized it as l/n y/n's, his class president. despite them being two of the most popular people at aoba johsai, and them being in the same class, they've never really spoken.
y/n never went out of her way to speak to him, which he was fine with. the two were mere strangers, each on their own pedestal.
iwaizumi walked over to his friend's desk, hitting the brown head of hair that rested on the table.
"oikawa, you're not going to practice on mondays anymore, right?" he questioned as he grabbed a chair to sit on.
"you know i'm not, iwa," the brunette said with a pout as he picked his head up.
iwaizumi flicked his friend's forehead, "hey, you need this, dumbass. besides, taking a day off is good too."
"...do you... care for me, iwa?" oikawa's eyes sparkled as he gazed at the other boy, but that sparkle faded as he got smacked on the head. "ouch, i'm going to tell my therapist about you!"
the vice-captain let out a wheeze, leaning forward in his chair while oikawa clutched the part of his head that got hit. despite what he was about to say would probably earn him another slap to the head,
oikawa wore his best smirk and asked, "heyy, were you talking to l/n y/n??""what? yeah, cause i bumped into her. and i
asked if you were still in here.""oooooh-"
"shut the fuck up," he deadpanned. "why, you like her?"
"don't be silly, iwa!"
he sighed, "yeah, whatever. now give me snacks."
after the two went through the edible gifts oikawa received, the captain departed the school to head to the clinic. he left at around 3:15 to make it in time for his 3:30 appointment.
the walk there, his nerves were getting to him. never would he have thought he'd be going therapy for his mental health. nothing wrong with it of course, but he still found it difficult to wrap his head around the fact.
he wasn't sure what his therapist would tell him, and maybe it was a wrong choice to even make this appointment in the first place. trying to put off his uneasiness, he reminded himself to simply trust iwaizumi.
as oikawa reached the tinted glass doors of the center, he took a deep breath and pushed them open, unaware of what would happen afterward.
'let's get this over with.'
