'Ash'

Ash has packed all his stuff and is now waiting for his ride to Professor Cerise's lab. He can't wait to be back there. They were happy to hear he wanted to return. His mom was cool with him returning. Telling him she wants the home for herself again.
He understood that was a way to let him know she would be fine.
'I am sure that you can get free from your work to go on vacation, maybe Gou wants to come along?' Dahlia questions.
'I will ask him after I know how the vacation works with my new work mom.'
She smiles at her son smiling so brightly again. Though he hid it for 10 years, she always felt that he was a bit sad. She tried to find out what it was, but she never could find it out.
"I wonder..."
A car honks loudly and they look up to see Professor Oak driving their way.
'Hello there, young Ash!'
Ash laughs a bit at hearing that. He may be 21, but still, he sometimes feels like he is that boy who came to Professor Oak to get Pikachu.
The yellow Pokémon jumps on Ash his shoulder. The boy laughs and pets his partner.
'You ready buddy?'
'PikaPika!' the paw of Pikachu goes up just like Ash always does.
'Alright! Let's GO!'
He jumps in the air copying the way he always started his new adventures, Pikachu following his sign.

They got in the car; this time Ash could drive himself. They were just before dark they drove to the parking lot of Cerise Laboratory. They get outside and Professor explains to Ash he is going to stay the night and will leave in the morning.
'Gary takes care of my lab for now, he is great at working there!'
'Yeah, my Pokémon love him almost more than me.'
Oak laughed at that, and Ash grinned happily. He then sees Cerise coming up to them.
'Well Ash, you have grown so much!' Cerise comments with a big smile.
Ash got a big smile on his face seeing the Professor again. Although Oak was the first Professor he met and Kuki is like a dad to him, he also cared a lot for the Professor who taught him so much. Ash has now grown to a good 1.83 m.  (I will use EU measurements because I don't understand Foot so sorry) It makes him quite tall, and sometimes he wishes he could grow back just as it.
'Well thank you, I tried to not stay behind,' Ash jokes which made the Professor laugh.
Pikachu made a disappointed "pika" at the joke Ash made. Ash scratched the back of his neck, and the Pokémon on his shoulder started loving to play with Ash. And although the boy liked it, sometimes it felt as if Pikachu didn't like him that much anymore. He knew though that was not true, everything changes slowly. Pikachu is growing up too.
'Goh is with his Pokémon, feeding them. You two will use the same room as first, so you know the way. I will see you at dinner.'
'Thank you!'

Ash runs off to the open center of the lab to find Goh. He can't quite understand why he feels so happy to go and find the boy. He must have missed him more than he realized. They first called sometimes, but slowly but surely Ash grew busier. He couldn't call that long or fall asleep soon. Goh in the end didn't try to contact him anymore.
The black-haired boy jumps down the stairs and looks around in the big open area. He walks through it, remembering the times they were here caring for their Pokémon and just chilling. A soft tab let Ash look at Pikachu who was pointing at something. Ash follows the paw of Pikachu and sees there in a white lab coat sitting on the grass Goh. The boy hadn't changed a bit, he had only grown bigger.
'Pika pi!'
Pikachu jumped off Ash his shoulder and ran up to Goh who looked up. The boy catches Pikachu and smiles a bit.
'Pikachu? What are you doing here?' he sounded really confused.
Ash walks up the way of Goh his hand up as a greeting. Goh looks at him shocked, and he then gets up. The two now standing right in front of each other. Pikachu is still in the arms of Goh.
'Hi Goh.'
'Ash.'
The silence that fell over the two was just a few seconds. But it felt like ages. Ash can see something in the eyes of the boy in front of him. But he can't understand what it is. Something sad but also happy.
'You have been here for long?' Ash asks after a bit.
Goh blinks and looks away and shakes his head slowly. He spoke softly, softer than Ash could remember.
'No, just a few months...'
'Ah, well what have you been up to until then?'
The silence that this time fell was heavy, Goh looked everywhere but Ash. The yellow Pokémon in his arms looks between the two and cuddles into Goh who looks at Pikachu then.
'Uhm, just stuff, not much. You?'

Ash decides to let it go, he just started talking about what he has been doing. The battles and Goh started acting like himself again. They sit on the ground while Ash moves his arms wildly or stands up to show what they did together with Pikachu.
Goh laughs when the boy before him does those things, it looks ridiculous. The first time Ash can't help to look at the boy under him. Though Goh also grew, he wasn't quite as tall as Ash. The black-haired boy guesses he is around 1.76 m.
So it wasn't that far apart, but Ash had to look down to look the other in his eyes. While Goh had to look up a bit.
'You are as stupid as before,' Goh notices.
Ash just told the boy about how he got stuck in a big tree while helping a Ratata out.
'Well, the Pokémon needed me!'
'I don't know but didn't you have a Dagonite, not to mention your other Pokémon?'
'I only was with Pikachu, so I couldn't'
Goh stares at the boy next to him who looks confused at him.
'What?'
'You are telling me that you are the champion, and you only bring Pikachu along? Don't get me wrong. Pikachu is amazingly strong! But what if something happened?'
'Well, nothing ever happened...?'
'You could have gotten hurt!'
Ash backed a bit away as the boy in front of him yelled. Goh looks angry, but it quickly fades, and he looks down, a shadow falling over his face.
'I didn't mean to upset you, Goh, it was-.'
'BOYS FOOD!'
The black-haired boy turns his head to the sound and sighs. He turns his head and sees Goh standing up and walking away. Ash tries to figure out what happened. He doesn't understand why Goh suddenly got so mad. Maybe something he said or did.
'Pika?'
The sound of his partner let Ash come back to reality. He takes the Pokémon on his shoulder and pets it.
'Did you understand that?'
'Chu,' Pikachu answers shaking its head.
Ash just decides to let it go for now. Maybe Goh is tired or maybe they just need to get used to seeing each other again. He remembers himself to talk to his mother later about this. Maybe she knows what he did wrong.
