JD: Nim Aether belongs to my friend Casting Demon.
Sitting at the far end of the bar, a glass of water beside me, I find myself engrossed in writing a poem. The sound of the door opening draws my attention, and I pivot to identify the newcomer. To my surprise, it's Mitzi, accompanied by an unfamiliar face. As she heads toward the bar I'm sitting at, I swiftly fold my poem and tuck it into my pocket before approaching her.
Louis: Any new pick ups.
Mitzi: I was going to let him do it.
I look at the person with her. He is a inch taller then me and he wears mostly red and his one eyes was red while the other was blue.
Nim: The names Nim, Its a pleasure.
He talks using dramatic gestures and expressions, which caught me off guard. He extends his hand for a handshake, and following my natural instinct, I reciprocate by shaking his hand.
Louis: Louis.
I shift my focus to Mitzi and casually lean against the bar.
Louis: So you're going to send him by himself? I don't think that is a good idea.
Mitzi: That's why I came to get you.
Her response caught me off guard. I rose from my leaning position and crossed my arms, processing the information.
Louis: Okay. Where we going?
Mitzi provides us with a detailed explanation of our destination and the location of the alcohol. Once the briefing concludes, we both head off to prepare. I load my Colt Single Action Army revolver and secure it in its holster. After donning my dark coat, I turn towards the car. As I open the door, I'm met with the sight of Nim sitting in the driver's seat. Normally, I'm the one behind the wheel.
Louis: Oi. I'm driver.
Nim: I'm already in the seat. I'm going to be the driver for this adventure.
Expressing my frustration, I let out a growl as I slam the door shut. Marching over to the passenger seat, I climb in, and we begin our drive. Throughout the journey, we maintained a silent atmosphere. Before long, we arrive at our destination where the alcohol is located.
Louis: Mitzi said it's all near the bridge.
Nim: I was there the whole tine, I heard her.
I can't help but roll my eyes in slight exasperation as we commence our search. Starting by checking next to the bridge, I scour the area but come up empty-handed.
Nim: I believe I found it.
I pivot my gaze to find him crouching under the bridge. Curious, I join him and spot the collection of bottles neatly arranged.
Louis: Holy crap. Mitzi is gonna be happy tonight.
Nim: I hope so.
As we begin loading the bottles, a growing sense of unease washes over me, as if something is nearby. I look back and notice beams of light, probably from flashlights.
Louis: Hide.
Nim: What?
Louis: Hide!
I urgently whisper while pulling him behind the car for cover. Carefully, I draw my gun and cautiously peer around the car's edge. I spot two individuals, both armed. I glance at Nim, exchanging a concerned look.
Nim: Who we hiding from.
Louis: If I knew I'd tell you. Once they leave we leave.
Curiously, I briefly exposed my head, attempting to spot them, but a sudden burst of bright light forced me to hastily retreat back into hiding.
Female voice: Think I saw a vermin.
Male voice: Where?
Female voice: Behind that car.
Swiftly, I react and roll beneath the car for cover. Assuming Nim followed suit, I scan for his presence, only to realize he's vanished. Straining to spot his legs, a sudden explosion startles me. I quickly shift my gaze and observe a crate brimming with dynamite. Nim stands nearby, tossing ignited sticks with an air of recklessness.
Louis: What the bloody hell?
Emerging from under the car, his crazed laughter reverberates around me. As I stand, a sharp sensation prods my back, prompting me to reflexively raise my hand in apprehension.
Serafine: Found you vermin.
I quickly glance to the side, spotting a girl aiming a gun at my back. Surrendering, I release my gun and obediently kneel on the ground.
Nim: Yohoo! Over here!
I shift my gaze to see Nim approaching cautiously, his hands raised in a gesture of surrender.
Nim: I do believe I know why you're here. Well it wasn't on this side of the bridge.
Serafine: What?
Understanding his intentions, I decide to follow suit and cooperate.
Louis: Its true. We looked everywhere for it.
Lowering her gun, the girl steps back while the guy swiftly grabs the back of my collar, lifting me up off the ground.
Nico: How do I know you're telling the truth.
Nim: If you wanna search yourself then search to your hearts desire but it's not over here.
Louis: If you let us go it's all yours and we'll leave.
With force, he hurls me onto the ground in front of Nim. I rise to my feet, observing them as they depart. Once their headlights vanish from view, both Nim and I break into laughter.
Louis: I can't believe they fell for it.
Nim: I can.
As our laughter subsides, we climb into the car and commence our journey back to the Little Daisy.
Louis: Hey. I just wanna say thanks for saving me back there.
Nim: You are very so welcome.
Louis: So are we good?
Nim: Yeah I'd say we're good.
With that statement made, we proceed with our drive back to the Little Daisy to deliver the alcohol to Mitzi.
