In the House of the Rising Sun

I have a mother that lives nearby.
I have a sister that lives there.
My brother he lives next door.
Whilst my father lives right there.
I'm in Kentucky
Away from New Orleans.

My lover died three weeks ago
In the House of the Rising Sun.
I'll never forget that day
When my lover killed himself.
I loved him so much oh yes I did.
But my lover now is gone.

Yesterday I found a way
To visit the house.
You slip into the old wardrobe
And turn around three times.

Yesterday I was caught
In the House of the Rising Sun.
So I was burned at the stake.
My lover now I join.

I wandered the earth for a hundred years
Now my lover I have found.
We found each other you know where
In the House of the Rising Sun.

We gathered the best of the clothes
And started to dance.
We danced and danced forever
And we still dance to this day.

If you look closely you will
My lover and me.
We are in peace and happiness
In the House of the Rising Sun
