Some of us have talent we may not realize. Maybe you'll discover it, yet maybe you won't. However, in this story, I can use my talent to its full potential. Does my life story sound interesting to you? Then read on.

My morning had started like they had always for the past 5 years of my life. I woke up on the curb, for I had no home, and I took off the stolen coat that I had used for a blanket. Why didn't I have a home? We'll get into that later. Thankfully, it didn't rain that night like it usually did. It was early June in Michigan, and the rainstorms were nonstop. What a lucky break, I had thought. Living in the big city of Detroit had helped, because I could nearly always find some place to stow under for the night.

As far as a half-decent meal to have to get me going for the day, I had a pretty decent method for getting a meal. I would go the local diner, order a small meal, and then casually walk out without paying for it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not excusing thievery, but I didn't have much else for a choice. Nobody within the area would hire me for a job, and I didn't even have a firm way to get around. With that in mind, I made a break for the local diner.

Just a few moments after sitting down, a waiter came up to me. "Good morning, sir," he said. "What can I get for you today?"

I kept my head low. "Just an egg, please. Over-hard." He quickly wrote my order on a page in his notebook and scurried off. What a shame I had to steal from him, he seemed like a nice guy.

The rest of my day from that point on was pretty boring. I sat on the side of the road and took a walk to the DIA. As soon as I saw the sun was setting, though, I signaled a cab and told him to take me as far out of the city as he could. The rusted car took off and sped through traffic.

Finally. I was alone in the forest. Or, as I found out, that's only what I thought. It was roughly ten o'clock according to my old watch. It was only then that I heard the crack of a fire. I quickly darted behind a tree and peered around it. That's when I saw her, the girl in the forest.
