"Come on, y/n. It's already been 3 months. You have to talk to him eventually." Jen's touching her makeup in the mirror. Although I'm not looking at her expression directly, I can hear the pout in her voice.

She's been trying to convince me to go up to Jeon Jungkook's office the entire night. She wants to take a vacation leave and have me pick up for her while she's gone, and she's too scared to ask him herself.

But for some reason she thinks it's an even better idea for me to do it for her. Because I am such a good friend, I'm actually considering it now. She really deserves some time off. Plus, I do have some time to spare lately since my day job schedule has been moved around. Jungkook had emailed me to let me know that someone else is splitting my weekday shifts with me (thank god).

She's trying again since I leave in a few minutes. I've already changed and took off my makeup.

She cracked me. I let out a soft groan and stood, taking off my duffel bag and putting it down on the floor.

"Fine. I'm going now. I'll let you know what he says,"

Her face lights up like a Christmas tree as she shoots her head in my direction. After many hugs, jumps, and squeals later, I'm going up the thin flight of stairs and heading in direction of his office.

My hand raised to knock, but it stopped halfway at the sound of two voices going back and fourth. One keen, low female voice, and my bosses deep yet smooth voice. Clashing against one another like water and oil. They're arguing about something that's unclear. None of their statements are direct enough for me to make out what the actual issue is.

"-call you later. This isn't the end of the discussion-"

In the flash of an instant the door is swung open and revealed a stunning woman. Just as keen as her voice. Her hair is dark and pin straight, eyes dark and elongated like a fox.

This woman is intimidating.

I'm suddenly hyper aware of how weird I must look. Hand slightly raised in a fist, baggy sweats and a baseball cap covering most of my features. My cheeks are burning up. I drop my arm and angle my chin up so I can match her eyes.

"Uhm, hi."

No response.

What seems to be a sigh escapes her lips and she barges past me.

The door creaks further. My boss is holding the door open with an unreadable expression. He seems tense, but when does he not?

"Can I come in?" I questioned softly. Once again, no response as he moves aside and let's me in. I don't take a seat. Instead, I stand behind the chair opposing his desk and shuffle my feet with unease.

"Is this a bad time..."

"Why would it be?" He retaliated while leaning against his desk per usual.

"Uh...no reason. I want to ask something on behalf of Jen."

His eyes explored my face. "Was this something she couldn't do herself? Is she pregnant or quitting? Broken legs?"

"No." I answered plainly. "None of the above. She was too nervous to ask for vacation days. I'll pick up for her while she's gone."

His teeth dig into his bottom lip prior to answering. "How long?"

"Just next weekend."

A beat of silence passed.

"She made you come up here to ask for one weekend off?" He readjusted his stance and crossed his arms. The thickness of his upper body is on full display this way.
