I wake up and start to stretch. I grab the glass of water from my bedside table and start to drink. I hear rustling coming from my phone and realize I was on the phone with Alex. "Alex?" I somewhat whisper. "Mhm?" He replies, half asleep. I smile. "Are you ok?" he asks, concerned, and in his morning voice. "No, no, I was just wondering if you were awake but I guess you are." He laughs at my awkwardness. "So what's your plans for today, beautiful." Sometimes he'll call me nic-names surrounding the word pretty or beautiful or anything like that. "Well, I was planning on going to the movies, what about you?" I say, excited. He starts to laugh then starts to say how he has nothing planned but then gets cut off by a call from a random number. "One sec. I'm so sorry Alex." I hang up and talk to the unknown caller. "Hello?" I say, reluctantly. "Hey, How are you?" A familiar voice came through the speaker. It was Chris. "I'm good. And you?" He replies: "I'm good, I'm good. So what are you up to-" I cut him off. "How'd you get my number?" I say, kinda of confused and scared. "Well I asked around until someone knew who you were friends with that would give me your number." I sigh. "And who was that? You know what, Doesn't matter. Why are you calling?" I say, trying to seem annoyed even though I can't stop thinking about what was so important that he basically had to research to figure out my number. "Well, I was wondering what you were doing today." He says, confidently. "Well, I was going to see a movie. why?" "Alone?" he asked, concerned. "Yes. Alone. Now why?" He quickly replies with "Ok, cya there!" then hangs up. What. Just. Happened. He's so stupid he didn't even ask which movie theater I'm going to. He'll probably realize and call back or talk to the friend who gave him my number. I lay on my bed with so many thoughts circling through my mind.
