~Sigh.... Juvia had to go on a mission by herself today. Juvia wishes Gray-Sama was with her.~ Juvia walks along the dark and desolate path, daydreaming about Gray. Her daydream is suddenly cut short by the sound of a baby crying. Curious on where the noise was coming from she follows it and sees a woman laying on the ground, in her arms was a bundled up cloak. Her curiosity got the best of her as she decides to take a peek inside the cloak. On the inside was a baby girl, who looked perfectly healthy. The woman on the other hand looked as if death was at her doorstep. "Ah, excuse me... Are you okay? Please tell Juvia what has happened to you." The woman turns her head towards Juvia, each movement looked painful. "I honestly don't have much time left. I can't explain, but please take my baby... Please raise her well." The woman slowly lifts her baby up, urging Juvia to take her. Juvia takes the baby in her arms. The woman speaks up, "Her whole name is Sakura Fumishinko. Please love her with all your heart." The woman's arms fall to the ground, tears stain her pale face. "Ma'am! Please wake up! Juvia will go get help!", Juvia runs off to find help. She gets someone to take the woman to the hospital. An hour later the woman was announced dead, the nurses tell Juvia that the woman will be buried properly by tomorrow and that they are sorry that they couldn't do anything to save the woman. "Juvia understands.", she says as she bows her head. Juvia walks out of the hospital with the baby still in her arms, she looks down at Sakura and sighs. ~Juvia has no idea how to take care of a baby... But Juvia doesn't want to put her in an orphanage. Hmmm Lucy's house is near by so maybe I'll go ask her for some help.~ "Well Sakura, shall we go visit Lucy?", for a brief moment Sakura smiles, which causes Juvia's heart to race. They arrive at Lucy's apartment and Juvia knocks on the door. "Coming! Just give me a second!" Lucy opens the door, "Oh hey Juvia! What's up?"
"Uh Juvia needs help and advice..."
"Alright come on in. Sorry for asking but what are you holding?"
"A baby," Juvia says as she walks in. "WHAAAAAAAT!"
"Shhhh. Juvia got her to sleep before we got here."
"So uh um where'd you get the baby and what's her name." Juvia gently starts rocking Sakura, "Juvia was on her way home from a mission and found her in her mothers arms. Her mother asked me to take care of her. Her mother literally passed away earlier, and the baby's name is Sakura Fumishinko." Lucy stands there a moment taking everything in slowly before she comments.
"So you are Sakura's new guardian?"
"Yes but Juvia doesn't know how to raise a child. Juvia doesn't want to put her in an orphanage!"
"Well Juvia I can help you out, but on one condition."
"What is it?"
"Sakura stays with me sometimes. Just so you can go on jobs to get money. You'll have to be able to feed her and yourself." Juvia nods in agreement.
"Juvia agrees with this condition. Thank you so much Lucy!" Lucy giggles, "You're welcome. I'm glad I can help. It's not everyday that I can take care of a baby."
"Well Juvia will head home now."
"Good. Bring her to the guild tomorrow!"
"Juvia promises she will." Juvia heads out to her home. She is able to get home without waking Sakura up. Juvia lays the baby on the bed and uses her Gray dolls to build little walls around Sakura. "There, now we don't have to worry about you falling off the bed! Even if it's not the real Gray-Sama, he is still protecting you!" Juvia gets herself ready for bed and turns out the lights. "Good Night Sakura." The night was very peaceful. Little did Juvia know was that she was in for the ride of her life.
