"What is it?", Ego held some papers up to his face.

You were back in the joint central room with Anri. Ego was displayed on the screen, flipping through some papers you had given Anri to give to him.

"It's my reasonings and evaluations for the six players I picked. I wanted to let you know why I specifically chose them, and for which positions of course", you clicked your heels together, a bit nervous about the whole thing.

Ego continued scanning through the papers, a smirk creeping up on his face, "Well I didn't expect this out of you Itoshi... All I said was to come up with six potential players... I will say our minds are quite alike though"

You shuddered at the idea of sharing anything remotely close to Ego, but only cleared your throat and continued to hear him out.

"Gagamaru as the goalkeeper and Meguru Bachira were two of my six as well. So they're added to the roster of players. The question now is who are your other two players, and can you give some valid arguments as to why they're better than the ones I have picked out"

Jeez what is this an interrogation?!

"Well then Ego. Tell me your picks then", you mumble out, glaring up at him.

"Gladly. Aside from the two listed, my picks would have to be Aryu Jyubei, Niko Ikki, Yo Hiori, and Zantetsu Tsurugi"

Your face can't help but frown a little at his picks. It's not that any of them were bad, he certainly knew more about them than you did after all. But you couldn't help but notice how little attackers had had picked. The only one you could really see was Zantetsu, and maybe Hiori.

"What's with the sour look? Do you believe your picks to be better than mine?", Ego scoffed, almost like he was looking down at you.

You shake your head, "N—No it's not that I just... I couldn't help but notice how you don't have many attackers for your line-up-"

"That's because I entrusted you with that Itoshi"

Your eyes widen at this news, not believing what you just heard, "I'm sorry, did you just say that you entrusted me with that? As in you trust me?"

Ego shrugged his shoulders, "I suppose so. Although that means you better have picked some good attackers"

Based off the field chart, there was only really one position left for an attacker. Originally, you wanted to give that position to Chigiri, because of his speed, but... It's not that you didn't trust Chigiri to be up front, but more like there was someone else who deserved it.

I clear my throat, before looking back up at Ego with that intimidating stare of mine, "The two players that I want on the team, would be Yoichi Isagi, and Hyoma Chigiri. My idea was that Isagi would be up front with the attackers, while Chigiri hangs back with Bachira as a dribbler"

Ego merely nods his head at what you say, "And are you picking these two because of their talents, or because you're biased towards them?"

You scowl and glare at him, "It's by talents of course! Besides, if it comes down to it, I'll happily sub Chigiri out for someone else—"

"Good, because you'll be the one to do it if that needs to happen"

Although you just said you would, a feeling of dread washes over you. What would Chigiri think if you actually sub him out during an important match like this? Would he hate you? The better question was, would you actually be able to?"

Hesitantly, you nod your head, trying to show that you weren't nervous, "Yeah... understood"

Ego grins, fixing his glasses, "My my, so it really wasn't biased of you to pick you friend and boyfriend-"
