Chapter 3: Homesick Hero

It had been a few days since Uzi had moved into Colony Delta, the worker drone hero was laying in her bed looking up at the ceiling. Her body was calm, yet her face seemed troubled.

Uzi: What is this feeling? I know I'm home here in the colony.....yet I feel...a longing to go back to the refinery.

She got up from her bed and got changed into her casual outfit, walking out of the bedroom and out into the main room, where she saw Lia waiting for her.

Lia: Oh, hello Mrs. Uzi.

Uzi: Hey Lia...

Lia: Are you alright Mrs. Uzi? You seem kinda upset.

Uzi looked away before turning back to Lia.

Uzi: I've just been....having this weird feeling lately, it feels like a part of me is missing....and it wants me to...go back to the refinery.

Lia looked at Uzi with a confused look on her face.

Lia: Maybe you miss the refinery? We've only been gone for a few days.

Uzi: I know but....it just feels....strange....I've never been away from the refinery for more than a few hours.

Just then, Lizzy walked into the room.

Lizzy: Hey you two, Thad asked me to come check up on you since he wanted to talk to you about something.

Lizzy then noticed Uzi looking upset.

Lizzy: Uh, you doing okay there Uzi?

Uzi: To be honest....no....I'm starting to really miss the refinery I lived at prior to coming here, and I don't know why.

Lizzy walked over to Uzi while closing the door behind her.

Lizzy: You probably feel homesick.

Uzi looked at Lizzy with a look of confusion.

Uzi: Homesick?

Lizzy: Yeah! Apparently it's a form of longing that occurs when someone is away from the place they call home for a long period of time.

Uzi: So that's what this feeling is....

Lizzy: Do you not like it here at the colony?

Uzi: N-No! I do! It's just....I can't tell if I miss the refinery.....or if I miss....AR3.

Lia then perked up.

Lia: Why can't you just go back there and say hi to her?

Uzi: Because I'd have to leave her again and I don't want to do that!

Uzi sat down on the couch sadly.

Uzi: I'm able to talk with her on our com link but....it's just not the same to only hear her voice...

Lizzy and Lia looked at each other with worried expressions.

Uzi: If only there was a way I could bring her here with me.....but how am I going to do that when she's mounted to the wall?

Lizzy then got an idea as her face lit up.

Lizzy: I got it! Why don't we build AR3 her own drone body? Then she can come here to live in the colony with us!

Uzi's eyes widened as she shot up and turned to Lizzy.

Uzi: We can do that!?

Lizzy: Yep, well not here. If I remember correctly the drone assembly plant is still functional, if we can collect enough parts we can hopefully give AR3 her own mobile drone body she can use to move around in.
