Calm, still and slumber as Tory looked out the window. The sunlight shining through the glass laminating the shadows in the room.
Spotless, not one mess to be discovered.
Tory gently stood up in bed, she noticed it was nine o'clock in the morning. Breathing slowly she was finally standing, holding on to the railing of her enormous bed. She called for Rosalinda who had been her maid since her mother was little. "Rosa, are you hungry because I hope Chef Borminte cooked up a storm." Both starting to walk down the spiral stairs to the kitchen. In the kitchen you would find chef Borminte cooking every hour, everyday. The upside about living in the Atwood manor was that Rosalinda, Chef Borminte and butler Lionel would eat breakfast, lunch and dinner with Tory. Lionel was always there for Tory, to protect and keep her safe. Her father ensured that Lionel was with Tory at all times especially when leaving the house.
People never came to her house, she was lonely. Her parents only came once a year for christmas eve then left first thing in the morning. Christmas day without her parents, would make her cry until Rosalinda would comfort her. The years went by and the young sixteen year old Tory finally stop crying for her parents. Tory's parents worked hard everyday. Both were lawyers and made a big income. One hundred thousand a month leaded to one million two hundred thousand a year. Lionel would make sure that the manor was guarded at every corner of the mansion but the guards were to never come in the house. The guards had their own house, it was big, bigger than any normal house in western Australia. Tory can go outside but never into town unless Lionel was to accompany her. Outside the view of her backyard was the ocean, most days were hot, so she would go outside and enjoy the heat . Her family owned Forty two acres of land, that is a lot to own in Kingston, Austrailia. The rich and wealthy, everybody wanted that, Tory's family had everything.
Everyone went on to their deeds as Tory went back upstairs to do her homework. Tory was home schooled, the teacher would come every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Since she was in the 11th grade, Ms griddle only taught English, math, Biology and chemistry. Tory was not the smartest child but she did have a brain and knew when to use it.
It was one o'clock and Ms Griddle came, it was a Wednesday in the middle of july and Tory was already waiting for her to arrive. "Good afternoon young lady" said Ms Griddle. "Unfortunately this is our last day together, I am getting so old my love, it is time for me to leave, I have already told your father and he was just fine with it, I told him you are finally sixteen, it is time for you to live life, what God has meant for all humans to do."
Live life.
"The real world can be scary and your parents were just protecting you from it but it. is. time." Both Tory and Ms Griddle looked down. Then Ms griddle pointed at Lord of the flies by William Golding. "I am going to miss you." Tory said with a soft voice and went on reading. Once Tory finished reading, Ms Griddle spoke again." Your father and I made an agreement for you to finally explore the world once you are sixteen, you are in for a surprise." Tory looked up. "Is it a good surprise Ms Griddle?" "It is best for you to wait love." Ms Griddle was walking down the steps and finally got into her car. Before she drove away she smiled at Tory with a exultant look then slowly drove away.

Most days she would go outside and enjoy the fresh Aussie air, now that she didnt have school because summer came around all she did was read books and watch movies all day. It was mid august and the quandary of coming back to school was an issue. There was a loud noise, almost sounded like people fighting over something. The sound was high pitched and girly. It sounded like Tory's best friends.
