Y/N's POV
We made it down the hill, and there on the other side was Mike and Bowers' gang towering over him. Beverly threw the first rock at the gang and then Richie screamed "rock war". We all ended up throwing rocks at the older guys while Mike shuffled over and helped. Henry and his gang then ended up running off after a bit.

"Thanks guys, but you shouldn't have done that," Mike told us, "they'll be after you guys too now."

"Bowers? He's always after us," Eddie told him.

"I g-guess that's o-one thing we have in c-c-common," Bill said.

"Yeah homeschool, welcome to the losers club," Richie told Mike.

"Yeah welcome to chaos," I told him with a laugh.

We then went downtown and stood around talking. Bill walked over to a set of missing posters and lifted up one, "it's like she's been f-forgotten."

"It's sad that she's not the only one this has happened with," I told the group.

"What's sad is that the police don't care about the missing children. Some of the parents don't care either," Beverly said in a softened and saddened tone.

"Do you think it's ever going to end?"

"What are you talking about," Eddie asked with two ice cream cones in his hands.

"What they always talk about," Richie answers, rolling his eyes and grabbing an ice cream cone from Eddie.

"I actually think it will end," Ben told us, "for a little while at least."

"What do you mean," Beverly asked confused.

"So I was going over all of my Derry research and I charted out all the big events. The ironworks explosion in 1908, the Bradley gang in '35, and the black spot in '62. And now kids being... I realized this stuff seems to happen..."

"Every 27 years," Bill and Ben said in unison.

"Yeah but why is this even happening," I ask.

Everyone just shrugged then Eddie spoke up, "okay so let me get this straight. It comes out from wherever to eat kids for like a year? And then what? It just goes into hibernation?"

"Maybe it's like... what do you call it? Cicadas," Stan said, "you know the bugs that come out once every seventeen years."

"My grandfather thinks this town is cursed," Mike tells us, "he says that all the bad things that happen in this town are because of one thing. An evil thing that feeds off the people in Derry."

"But it can't be one thing. We all saw something different," Stan argued.

"Maybe... or maybe it knows what scares us the most and that's what we see."

"I saw a leper," Eddie told us, "he was like a walking infection."

"But you didn't," Stan argued again, "because it isn't real. None of this is. Not Eddie's leper or Bill seeing Georgie or the woman I keep seeing."

"She hot," Richie asked and I immediately smacked him.

"No Richie. She's not hot. Her face is all messed up. None of this makes any sense! They're all like bad dreams!"

"I don't think so," Mike said, "I know the difference between dream and real life, okay?"

"What'd you see. You saw something too," Eddie asked Mike curiously.

"Yes. Do you guys know the burned down house on Harris Avenue," Mike asked us and we nodded so he continued, "I was inside when it burned down. Before I was rescued, my mom and dad were trapped in the next room over from me. They were pushing and pounding on the door, trying to get to me. But it was too hot. When the firemen finally found them, the skin on their hands had melted down to the bone. We're all afraid of something."

"Got that right," Richie stated as he looked around.

"What are you afraid of," Eddie asked him.

"Clowns."

"Wait we don't know what Y/N is afraid of," Stan brought up.

"W-What," I said not wanting to tell them.

"Y-Yeah Y/N, w-what are you a-afraid of," Bill asked me.

"I don't think I want to answer that," I told the group.

"Y/N, we need to know so we can protect each other from this thing," Beverly said, giving a voice of reason.

I held tightly onto the locket and looked down, "the past... or at least somewhat due to what I saw when I moved here."

"What did you see," Eddie asked super confused.

"So I moved here not too long ago and when we were unpacking I saw this kid outside. He had brown shaggy hair and he looked younger than me by a bit. It was raining that day so when I went out to say hi to him I wore my raincoat. When I walked up to him, he had a paper boat, it was made really well. We talked and he told me about the boat, how his brother made it for him, he told me his name and then we saw this clown in the sewer grate and he got pulled down while I escaped. All that was left was this locket," I tell them then crack open the locket to reveal the Denbrough family.

The group all gasped and Bill looked like he was going to be sick.

"Bill are you okay," Ben asked him.

He shook his head while speaking, "we need to find them now."

"He didn't stutter," I heard Richie say under his breath then we all went to Bill's house.
