Chapter One: The Beached Boy

"COME ON MEN! MOVE IT! HOW CAN YOU CALL YOURSELVES MARINES IF YOU CAN'T EVEN RUN 5 MILES!" a Marine Captain yells at the horde of new Marine rookies behind him.

"But......But Captain. We are very tired, our legs are still hurting from doing those leg exercises we did earlier," a rookie Marine moans.

"DO YOU THINK THE PIRATES WILL HAVE MERCY ON YOU JUST BECAUSE YOUR TIRED?! I DIDN'T THINK SO, NOW KEEP RUNNING!!!!

On the island of MarineFord, the Marine and Navy HQ is built on, new soldiers are being trained by the hands of Captain Kui. Taking there daily routine of 5k around the island. These men swore to keep peace throughout the world by taken down all pirates throughout the seas and due to their increasing numbers, since the death of Gol D. Rogers, the Marines are not only inproving in numbers but in strength too.

"Psst, Cho," rookie Marine Hans whispers to his partner,"Wanna ditch while we still can?"

"And go where? Everybody knows this island like the back of their hands. They can basically walk the whole island with there eyes closed and not worry about getting lost," Cho responds panting, with his t-shirt dampened with sweat.

"I know where we can cut off and meet everybody on the other side. We can walk there and still meet everybody there. Are you in or out?"

"Fine. Lets do it besides, I'm starting to get a cramp in my legs." Cho mumbles

"Ok. We are gonna fall back a little and cut through those bushes. Ready?"

"Ready."

"Go."

The two Marines break off from the pack and heads into the bushes and rest a minutes and catch their breathes.

"How you feeling, Cho?" Hans asked his partner after watching him lie on the ground taking deep breathes, and fanning himself with his soaked shirt.

"Same as you...Tired!" he responds.

"Hey at least be glad we are not running anymore, besides look on the bright side, you can... What was that?"

"What was what? I don't hear anyth....." He pauses and falls silent. There is a faint sound of crying in the distance not to far away from them. "Is somebody crying?" he asks

"Noooooo," Hans says sarcastically, "That's our new alarm. Of COURSE somebody is crying. Lets go check it out."

They follow the sound of the crying and stops at some bushes. "It sounds like the sound is coming from behind these bushes....but what if its a test from one the Captains?" Cho asks, starting to look around for any signs of life anywhere else.

"Good point. You go first!" Hans responds hastily.

"Wha...!" Thats all he managed to muster out before he is suddenly launched forward through the bushes by Hans's shove. Cho rolls out and immediatly gets on his hands and knees and bows his head. "I'M SORRY, CAPTAIN PLEASE DON'T KICK OUT OF THE MARINES I WILL NEVER SKIP A DAY OF TRAINING AGAIN. I SWEAR!!!" he finishes and still hears the crying of a child. He slowly picks his head up expecting to look in the face of one of the Captains, but instead sees the face of a crying, dark skinned baby boy in a basket not to far from the shorline, crying his eyes out.

"Hans!!!!" Cho yells' "Come here its a baby. Its not a test. He needs help.!"

Hans rushes out to take a look of at his friend was talking about and gasps, at the sight of the baby boy. "We have to take him to back HQ, he looks like he must if washed ashore."

"How can you tell?" Cho questioned.

"Because we just passed this area thirty minutes ago, you idiot! Everybody footprints are literally right over there!" Hans point to the right where thousands of footprints cover the ground.

"We did? Wow we must of ran very fast....wait isnt that where we started?"

"Yeah I guess so....Wait a minute forget that, lets take this baby to HQ so they can see if anything is wrong with him."

"Alright." Cho responds as he picks up the baby boy and saw a piece of paper where the baby was laying. "Hey Hans, there's a note there."

"Hmm.... There's something on it...D. D. K?"He cocks his head sideways in confusion and realizes there was a kiss mark made by bright red lipstick by the initials. Suddenly, he widens his eyes at the realization of the mark on the letter. The only female who kisses the cheeks of all does she defeats or kills.

"Whats wrong, Hans? Your turning pale, are you ok?" Cho asks looking at his partner with deep concerned.

Hans slowly bends down and to pick of the letter unable to stop himself from shaking, but manages to pick up the letter. And begins to read:

To whoever finds this child, you are my savior. I trust that you will keep my baby safe from harm and danger. If my child has been injured in anyway you will answer by me...or his father. ~Signed D. K. K.

Death Kiss Kureima has a child?! If she's this child's mother than I hate to find out the father is. Either way this is a child we can train him into a strong Marine and just never tell him who his mother is. Hans thinks to himself forgetting that his partner was still behind him yelling his name.

"HANS!!! ANSWER ME ARE YOU OK?!?!? WHAT THOSE THE NOTE SAY!" Cho screams into the partner's ear shaking him violently trying to bring him back to reality.

"Huh? What?! Why are you shaking me I'm okay...now," Hans musters out.

"Oh, good. What does the note say that had you standing like that for so long?"

"N-Nothing, but you can't read the note," Hans says as he begin tearing up the note,"Lets hurry back to HQ so they can take care of this baby. Come on." He then takes off leaving his partner behind and headed into the bushes.

"Hey! Wait up! I can't run with a baby in my hands you know! Hans!" Cho struggle to catch up to Hans into the bushes . Jeez. With friends like these who needs pirates, Hans thinks to himself and heads to HQ.
