Chapter 15: Preparing for Upper Yard

Rin's POV
While the old man was getting.
the stuff packed for me, I sat there thinking about what Whitebeard had said to me. Is it true my mother is a pirate, and I'd so those that mean the Marines are probably using me to take out family members I haven't even met? I shook it off and decided not to think about until I got home....or what I least what I think is home.

"Alright, Rin, I have all the necessary Dials you will need to get past Upper Yard, with food and water," the Knight said as he came outside with a backpack in his hands.

"Dials?" I asked

"Yes, allow me you show you what can they do," he told me as he pulled out something that looked like a ordinary red seashell...with a button. "This is the Flame Dial. With a press of this button this Dial can spew out flames," he explained as he pressed the button and shot flames at my feet.

"Hey! Watch where you shooting that thing!" I yelled, while I shook my fist at him.

"Sorry, sorry!" He gasped as he quickly put the Dial back into the bad and brought out two more. "This is the Jet Dial," he said as he gestured to the light blue shell in his right hand,"and this is the Impact Dial." He gestured to the blue-green shell is his left hand. "The Jet Dial produces powerful winds and exerts it adding extra speed to whatever you attach it on, but seeing.that you can already produce winds you might not need it," he said with a cheerful smile.

"Nah, I'm going to need it considering the wind up here is not strong enough for me to ride on or use in a fight," I explained. I told the old man how me using the wind works is that I enhance the wind I use when I throw a punch to add some extra force to my blows, and how my Devil Fruit is mixed with the wind in some of my attacks to make my Devil Fruit a range/melee type..

"I see so you are a Zoan type Devil Fruit!"

"Zoan type?" I asked. I didn't know what this old man was going on about.

"Oh? You don't know what that means? Let me tell you. There are three different type of Devil Fruits...Paramecia, Zoan, and Logia. Zoan are fruits that turn the user into animals. Paramecia affects the body of the user. Logia gives the user elemental powers and can transform the user into an element if they wanted to. Your are a Zoan considering you have the abilities of a dragon," the old man explained.

"So I can do ANYTHING a dragon can do?" I asked with ideas building up in my head. "Wait a minute..." I started to think of a idea. "Hey, knight? You got anywhere I can try something with my Devil Fruit?" I asked.

"Of course... go to the backyard," the old.man gestured to the back door in his kitchen."There enough space for you back there," he told me as he put the two dials back in the bag while I walked out the back door.
Once I got in the back yard I instantly covered my arms with scales and ignited my arms. I saw a lone boulder in front of.me that's not too far away, but at the same time the perfect amount of distance for my experiment. I focus my energy, therefore adding more fuel to my flames. I aimed at the boulder and drew back my right arm.
"DRAGON-"
I launched my attack towards the boulder.
"SHOT!"
The flames flew off my arm and the front of it seemed to look like the form of a dragon's face launching to take a bite out of it prey with its mouth wide open. When it collided with the boulder was nothing but a pile of pebbles.

"Aha! So that move I used on Whitebeard's crew member was my Devil Fruit powers and not my wind," I told myself thinking back when I used Dragon Pillar in my fight with Whitebeard's crew members.
I turned to the Knight,"Thanks, old man for explaining my fruit. I don't think I would've figured out I could do that had you not told me that. I can probably experiment with it more later but for now I'll keep my wind and Devil fruit mix move set for now might come in handy."

"Yes, indeed," he agreed as I walk in the opposite direction of my destination."Where are you going?" The old man asked.

"I need a running start, you know?" I grinned as I prepared myself for a run.

"Wait a minute I have a few.more things to tell you before you jump into Upper Yard," the Knight exclaimed as he jumped in front of my path and ran up to me and handed me a piece of paper."That's a map of Upper Yard and I've marked your destination on there already. "I also need to tell you of the present of other Blue Sea Dwellers here in Skypiea."

"What?!" I shouted. "There are other people here?"

"Yes, a group of seven people arrived a few hours ago. They have a ship maybe you can meet up with them while you look for your way out," the Knight suggested.

"I'll see them when I see them," I said as I prepared to start my run again, but once again the Knight get in my path.

"Wait!"he yelled. "I need to tell you one last thing before you go. Beware of Eneru and his priests on Upper Yard. That whole island is their turf. If you encounter them and have no other choice but to fight. Watch out for their Mantra," he explained.

"Mantra?"

"Yes, they have the ability to read your moves before you even make them," he said.
I instantly shrugged that off,"Oh, so they have Observation Haki. This should be fun! I'm already getting excited.thinking.about how strong these guys might be."

"WHAT?!?! Your going to fight them?!" The Knight exclaimed.

"Well, yeah, if they get in my path I don't see why not, besides I'll probably be able to tap into my fruit a little bit more depending on how weak or slow they are," I said as I cracked my knuckles together. The Knight just stared at me with wonder and amazement like he couldn't believe I just said that.

"Anyways, thanks for taking care of me old man, I appreciate what you've down for me," I called out as I grabbed the pack from him started my run. I use the wind that was trailing behind me to burst forward and improve my speed. After the first burst went down I shot another and repeated the same process for the third burst until I finally use my fourth burst for my jump and it gave me the height I needed to cross over. I looked back at the Knight to see him saluting my journey to Upper Yard. I saluted back as I flew across Upper Yard's tree's and pushed my back draft forward to slow my fall into the forest. Once I successfully landed on the ground I looked up into the Sky and notice something very...weird. The trees are humungous and have to about ten feet tall
"These are some big ass trees!" I yelled as my voice echoed throughout the forest.

(Hey guys for those of.those who has read this far. At this point I'm running with this story. Let the ideas really that go through.my head into this book. I'm thinking about adding some new types of fruit for Rin...and yes the Strawhats to fight. Any suggestions?)
