luke's pov
i was in 3rd period and all i could think about was how that boy knew my name. i don't think that i have ever seen him before at school? have i? omg what if he was in one of my classes and i just never realized it? i feel so bad now.
i looked up from my maths books took a look around. nope, i didn't see that boy i bumped into earlier. i sighed sadly and went back to staring blankly at the textbook.
"mr. hemmings... mr. hemmings... luke!" i jumped in my seat and looked up at the front of the classroom. "whats the answer, mr. hemmings?" my maths teacher stared at me coldly through his glasses. i was so lost. "i am sorry, whats the question..." i said barely over a whisper. he just looked at me, so did the rest of my class. i felt myself getting very red. "luke hemmings, please meet me after class." i just nodded and sunk even deeper in my seat. everyone was either laughing at me or whispering about me, i was so embarrassed, fml.
as class ended and everyone rushed out of the room, i packed my things slower than usual. i didn't want anyone to be there when i received my punishment. "mr. hemmings, i am very disappointed in you today. you are usually such a good student. you have good grades and you always participate in class, whats wrong today?" i kept looking down at my feet as i mumbled a quiet "nothing sir. just a bit distracted, thats all." he huffed in response "i am not going to give you detention, for that will ruin your reputation, but i do have one task for you. and it will take time out of your day to do it." i looked up at him quizzically "and what exactly is it sir?" he reached into his desk and pulled out a file. someones file. he read aloud "calum hood. he just moved here from another school. he moved here because of...some personal issues...at his old school. now, i know that you a smart and good young boy, so i am asking you to help this boy around at school. i already told him what you looked like and what your name was, so he knows you. show him his classes, help him with other people at the school, and maybe help him with homework."
i wasn't sure if he was serious. of course i would help whoever this calum was. "wait, this is my punishment? helping someone with school?" he looked at me straight in the eyes "well maybe not just with school...he has some other issues...that i thought you could help him with." i was still confused "like what ki-" "now now lucas, thats enough questions. you will meet him tomorrow morning." "okay sir"
wait. i didn't even know what this kid looked like.
"wait sir, what does he look like and isn't he supposed to be at school today?" i asked. "oh yes, he has black hair, dark brown eyes, and he is very skinny. it won't be hard to miss him." said my maths teacher with a smile. wait, was he making fun "calum" because of his weight? huh, i will just have to see him for myself. "okay, but why isn't he here today?" i asked my last question. "oh, he called the school this morning and said that he couldn't make it, something about being hit my a car door or something. now, enough questions and get to class!"
oh no, this calum boy was the boy i hit this morning! i am pretty sure calum already doesn't like me because of that, now how am i going to help him with school, let alone his "other issues"?? ugh i guess i will have to see how it all turns out tomorrow.
