'Willow! Time to go!' a voice yelled from downstairs.

'Coming!' I yelled back, searching for my bag.

Where did I leave that thing?

I looked by my bureau and of course it's there. Why didn't I think of that earlier? I'm getting late!

My gaze fell on the window, and saw the sun coming up, warming my face. It fell on one tree, which looked like it was shining between all the shadows.

Wow.

'Willow!'

I ran downstairs and saw my sister, Courtney, already waiting there.

'What took you so long?' she asked.

'Couldn't find my bag,' I answered, distracted by my phone. I saw some goodluck texts from my old friends and smiled.

'Willow, come, I'm not gonna wait forever!'

I putted my phone away and followed Courtney outside.

Our bikes are standing outside already. I wish I could just go to school with my car, if I had one!

Courtney had one of course, but didn't use it often. And she offered to go with me on the bike today, for our first day. She was the kind of big sister everyone would love to have. She shared everything with me. I mean, almost everything.

But she wasn't home very often, she was mostly out with her friends. She had always been popular, unlike me.

I had always been "the adopted kid" and most people looked at me like I'm crazy.

Courtney was not even my real sister. She was the real daughter of my adopted parents, and she was their favorite. Like, why would they adopt me, to spend all their time with Courtney, the moments they were home?

I sighed.

I stepped on my bike and together we rode our bikes to the school.

Woodlane was a pretty big school, atleast, bigger than my old school. Courtney walked away to her class and I took a moment to look around.

I'm probably going to get lost in there, I thought. I'm used to small schools.

I started to walk toward the school, when I suddenly felt someone tapping on my shoulder.

'Hello there, are you new here?' a voice says.

I slowly turn around, seeing a large boy with short, brown hair.

My eyes immediately fell on his red eyes. I'm sure that isn't normal.

I nodded at him. 'I'm Willow. You?'

He answered so quickly, like he already knew what I was gonna say. Weird.

'I'm your worst nightmare.'

I sighed. Did he really think he was funny? 'Haha, very funny. Who are you really?' I'm kinda interested actually. He looks like my age and not to forget, he is pretty handsome..

A big smile appeared on his face. 'Not so scared?'

Who does he think he is?

'Alright then. I'm Zayden.'

Before I could answer, he waved at me and walked away.

I stared at him while he walked away. 'Strange...'

When I finally found my classroom, I saw, of course, Zayden sitting next to the only empty chair in the room.

The teacher telled me to introduce myself, which I quickly did, and to sit on the empty chair.

'There we meet again,' Zayden grinned when I sat down.

'Yippee,' I answered. 'So much fun.'

I got my books and listened to the teacher, talking about arts and crafts. I kinda liked art, so it was easy to ignore the guy sitting next to me.

After the teacher was done explaining what we had to do, which was making a drawing from a creature, imagined or real, we actually got to do something.

I actually liked the assignment. I used to draw a lot in my spare time before we moved here, but I hadn't started yet, here in London.

Next to me I saw Zayden drawing. What was that?

I tried to peek through his fast moving hands. I saw the contours of a body, but it had fangs or something.

'What are you looking at?' Zayden smiled. 'I think you should start your drawing.'

'What are you making?' I asked. I tried to peek more between his hands, but he was covering it too much.

'It's a vampire,' he grinned. 'Ever heard from those?'

I sighed. I let my gaze fall on my drawing. Yeah, maybe I should start.

I started to draw a body. I was going to make a devil, like I used to do so many times when I was younger. I was really obsessed with them. I still don't know why.

I was done with the outline when class was over.

We would have multiple weeks for this assignment, so that would be fine.

Zayden was already gone when I walked out of class and I didn't know what to think of that. A girl I also saw in the class waved at me and I waved back. She looked kinda friendly.

Then he appeared in front of me.

'Hello there.'
