Four weeks later.

"Keep it moving, the boss is real close to giving you more freedom, so don't go fucking up now alright?" Harvey says, walking by.

Jess sighs and rubs her forehead, sweat dripping, she takes her flannel off and swings it over her shoulder and then continues doing her work.

Her and the other three have been here for about three weeks now, they've been being surveyed every day and have to do lots of work until luna thinks about giving them more...'accessabilities'

Right now she's moving large logs into a pile next to a wood cutting building, so that the other workers, who still have more privilege than them, can build more things to make the community bigger.

Luna gave them all work to do that she thought would fit them.

Jess mostly has to do manual labour, like tommy does too.

Luna had 'interviewed' lucia like she did with gabe, so she figured she could do well with helping patch people up, learn a thing or two about becoming a doctor, for some reason.

And gabe was interviewed too, he gets to keep the horses in check, sharpen weapons, load guns with bullets.

For some reason those two get treated better, and got 'interviewed' unlike jess and tommy, probably because they were less, 'obedient' as luna likes to say, and she just threw them into manual labour like all the other underprivileged youth.

She feels disgusting, she hasn't been able to shower in ages, whereas the others have, according to luna, some people like her and tommy have to work to get the same things as their higher ups, who as she quotes.

'deserve those rights'

She should be focusing on bigger problems than who has more rights than who in the community.

But she's been here three weeks, she's tried to find ways out, but she's always being surveyed, harvey is always on her ass, when he sees her trying anything suspicious he either drags her back to work or throws her in luna's office to explain herself.

But she's pretty sure he hates everyone, maybe jess a little more than others.

She's had a few beatings, not as many as tommy, she's tried to step in a few times, pushing them away from him, but it all ends the same, both of them ending up with a beating in the end.

She can't see gabe or lucia often, the only time she gets to see and talk to lucia is when she's being patched up after getting into a fight.

Lucia keeps telling her to stop even though she wishes she could kick their asses too, but she mainly says it because she doesn't want her to get hurt again, but on the brightside, the only time she ever gets to see lucia is if she's being patched up, so she uses it as an advantage sometimes.

Maybe jess just misses her, it's hard when you've been drove apart from your friends, when they're in a higher rank to you. And luna and her lapdogs refuse to let any of them see eachother, ever, she's not sure luna even knows that lucia is the one always patching her up after getting her ass kicked, and jess wants it to stay that way, for a long time now she's realised how much she cares about them all, and lucia...

Luna believes that letting the group see eachother will distract them from the bigger picture, which would be helping her community thrive.

She eventually finishes her work and wipes the sweat off her forehead, she looks over at the stables and sees gabe looking over at her, he has a sour look on his face, likely not to her, but you don't know these days, maybe he blames her for them all being stuck here.
