So I wrote Daya when I was 15 and although I am proud of my younger self for finishing a project as a 20 year old I do have some problems with the work that many readers have probably caught on. First things first all the characters were based on people in my life in the least subtle way possible which I'm not too proud of. When I was 15, I thought the only way to truly write a story that connects with me was to have it based on my life, but as I've grown up I've known it's not true. The story can be about someone completely different from me, but it can still connect with my purpose and myself. The main character doesn't have to have a name starting with the same letter, she doesn't have to have the same type, and she definitely doesn't have to be bullied by the same people. I was trying to write myself in, but now that I'm a better writer I know there are so many other ways to do that.

So now I present to you the new Daya who is 16, only has two siblings, her older brother Vince, and her babysister Sawyer. Ziyah is still Ziyah, but he is in the same grade as Daya. Vince is still Vince but he is now starting his first year of college. I hope you enjoy this new story where there is less characters, less weird plotlines, and more good writing.

I also will be writing another college story about a character named Stevie so you can look forward to that as well.
