"....Keep her safe."
______Ainsley sat on her floor, books scattered all around her. She sat up straight, her hand reaching out to grasp a certain book, the book was nearly destroyed- she couldn't make out what the title was. It was clearly an old book, yet it was her absolute favorite.
She heard a soft knock on her bedroom frame, the noise making the girl jump. She turned to see the familiar brunette, "Five," she greets him with a grumble. He put his hands in his pockets and sat criss-crossed on her bed. He thought her bed was so comfortable- she thought it was stiff.
"What're you doing?" He kept his voice low and soft, knowing she's not a fan of loud noises..he always spoke low when around her, in fear she might freak out and it be his doing. "Reading." She muttered, stating the obvious. A strand of her dark hair falling into her face, she tucked the strand behind her ear once again- He couldn't help but wonder how she'd react if he were to do it for her...
He wouldn't risk it. He finds their bond far too precious to even make the slightest move that could scare her. In Ainsley's mind she wouldn't mind it- if it was someone else she definitely would, but it was him.
He sighs and lays back on her bed, she glances up at him for a moment before looking down at her book. "Five?" her voice cracked as she tried calling out to him. "Yes?" she pursued her lips before speaking again- well, whispering. "go outside?" she asks him, standing from her spot and kneeling next to him. "It's snowing, you'll get cold." he warns her, but knows she'll want to go out either way. "I'll bring a coat."
They walk through the courtyard together, her hands shivering in the cold that she swore wouldn't bother her, but he read her like an open book. "I told you." he chuckled softly, freezing momentarily when she latches onto his arm for warmth. She wasn't one for physical contact so when it happens, he doesn't complain. She wrapped one arm around his and used the other to hold his pointer finger. They strolled down the pathway and as they walked he couldn't help but stare. Snowflakes falling perfectly in her auburn hair- she looked perfect in his eyes.
His breath hitched when their eyes met, his heart pounded in his chest, he swore she heard it. She shot him a smile that didn't reach her eyes. He always wondered if she had felt the same, he wished on every star she did.
It was late at night, the clock on Five's bedside table read, '11:09'. "Perfect" he thought. He groaned when he felt the square piece taped to his temple, eyeing the wire attached to it. He blinked for a couple of seconds before looking at the clock once more. This time the clock read, '11:11' he smiled to himself, thinking of her. He remembers her telling him about this girl in her book who wished right when the clock turned '11:11' and it miraculously came true. He decided to test that theory. He shut his eyes in deep thought.
"Please..please...to whomever is listening...keep her safe."
