There are many things everyone always says about me in the WLF, that I am someone driven, strong, and absolutely terrifying. My best friend Abby Anderson and I were exactly who you would be afraid of if you crossed us on your journey in this apocalypse, we were always killing scars and infected together, and when we weren't doing that we were in the gym working out, or on slow nights like tonight we were in her room chatting about everything and anything.

I laid on Abby's bed as she paced around the room, "I just can't fathom the fact that they're having a baby Luna." She sighed as she continued to pace, I sat up on the edge of her bed, I patted the spot next to me.
"Abby sit, you're freaking me out." Abby wasn't listening to me, she continued mumbling to herself, "It's the apocalypse you can't have a baby right now, and there's so much to do, there is no hope, the baby will live a life of fear and hopelessness."
"Abigail," I said sternly and she stopped in her tracks, I patted the bed again and she sighed and sat beside me, I turned to her with a comforting sad smile, my shoulder nudging hers. She glanced at me and a soft smile reached her lips.
"Do you care about all that stuff..or are you just jealous..?" I asked.
"Maybe both...I'm not entirely sure. I just want Owen to be happy, you know that." I nodded, leaning my head on her shoulder.
"Are you happy..?" Abby took a moment to ponder before replying, which led me to believing she might not be.
"Of course I am, I have you. Who cares about that sappy romantic shit anyways." Abby leaned her head on mine and I didn't fight her on her own hesitation.

The room door flung open and Manny rushed through the door, "Abby, Luna." He spoke barely looking at us and he rushed to his bedside table, shuffling through the drawer. I sat up properly now, not wanting to alarm Manny from Abby and I's closeness.
"Whatcha looking for?" Abby asked with a smirk laid upon her face, he grabbed something and lifted the item to showcase it to us, a condom. Abby and I chuckled as he turned towards us,
"The scientist and I were getting into it and I forgot to bring this," He shoved the condom into his pocket and rubbed the back of his neck nervously as he glanced at us on Abby's bed.
"You two..looking cozy as always. Was I interrupting something?" He raised his eyebrows with a smirk.
I rolled my eyes at his comment, "Don't you have somewhere to be?"
"Right! Yes! Bye guys." He responded quickly with a nod and rushed out of the room, leaving Abby and I alone again.

Abby's head turned to me, and her brown eyes met mine, "If I had to vote on who started spreading the rumor about us hooking up, I would vote for Manny." She spoke with a grin.
I nodded in agreement, "Honestly, I enjoy the rumor, so I guess I owe him a thank you."
Her eyebrow lifted with curiosity, "Really? Why's that?" We hadn't broken eye contact for a moment. Abby and I were obviously close, and everyone in the WFL knew I was a lesbian, I had probably hooked up with about a third of the girls Manny had, I had a reputation. So it wasn't long after we started spending time together, that everyone talked about us hooking up, even though there was no confirmation Abby was into girls, even after all our time together neither could I for the life of me figure out her interest.

"Well look at these things," I pulled her arm out and pointed out her biceps,
"Nobody is messing with me, thinking I'm dating the hulk.." She rolled her eyes with a chuckle, pulling her arm away from me.
"That's a really good reason, although wouldn't this make women scared to approach you?" She tilted her head slightly, raising her eyebrows at me.
"Man..it makes so much sense now, that's why the girl from the daycare center ran away from me when I told her she looked pretty in the cafeteria.." I said sarcastically.
"Alright, enough of this," She laughed softly as she stood up from her bed and looked down at me,
"We should get some rest, big day tomorrow." I stood up now too, making my way to her room door. We did in fact have a big day tomorrow, we had to make a trip out to the fob together.
"Get some rest okay?" Abby opened the door and I nodded, making my way into the hallway.

I was awoken to loud banging on my room door, my roomate groaned in his sleep and I rushed out of bed to the door. I opened it as Abby was about to knock again, I leaned against the door frame, one hand on the knob, "You can't knock like that at this time Abs.." I whispered.
She rolled her eyes looking me up and down, "You needed to be woken up, we have to leave soon," Her eyes met my hair and I noticed a small smile fighting it's way onto her face, "Your hair is a mess."
I rolled my eyes, "Two minutes." I shut the door and rushed over to my dresser, I grabbed my hair brush and looked at myself in the mirror. My black hair hair was a mess, it was all shaggy and tangled together, I quickly ran my brush through it and grabbed myself clothes from the dresser.

I stepped out of my room and Abby leaned against the wall across the hall, her eyes met mine and she began to make her way towards the stairs, "That was 3 minutes..to be exact."
I hurried to follow her, and rolled my eyes, "You were counting? You are unbelievable."
"You love me." She looked back at me with a grin, causing me to roll my eyes again.

We grabbed some burritos to go and made our way out to the trucks, Abby called dibs on driving so I sat alongside her in the passenger seat. We haven't spoken much since getting in the truck, I think we're both still waking up, the sun is barely coming up right now. My eyes watched the empty towns filled with snow, our group had emptied out months ago, all the empty cars that sat in the streets, I always wondered about the people who were trying to run away from the outbreak when it all started, where did they think they had to run..it must have been so terrifying.
"Deep in thought this morning?" Abby's voice brought me back into reality, the gun in my lap suddenly feeling heavy. I turned to her, her eyes focused on the 'road' before her, her hair was braided as usual, I'd only seen Abby with her hair down twice since I'd met her, and it was jaw dropping.
"It seems like it. Same for you?"
"Unfortunately, but hey! At Least we're both having a crisis!" Abby's hand grabbed my thigh with enthusiasm, throwing me a smile and I felt my body stiffen from her touch. She pulled her hand away after a moment and my gaze met the gloomy town again. I wouldn't say I liked Abby romantically..at least not anymore, when we started hanging out I had a major crush on her, I mean can anyone blame me? Her muscles were intimidating but in a way where you want her to throw you around..with time the crush went away, but sometimes I can't help my racing thoughts when she touches me.

Suddenly we heard whistling, I grabbed onto my gun tightly and began looking outside, "You know the drill.." Abby said sternly. There were two scars following our truck from behind on their horses, aiming their bows.
I shifted my upper body out of the truck, keeping my legs inside, the cold harsh wind was strong on my face but still I aimed at one of the scars, shooting him right in the head, "Got one." I mumbled.
"Good girl." Abby's voice was like music to my ears, but I shook the naughty thoughts out of my head, aiming at the other scar, and shot him too
"And that's two." I placed myself back into the warm truck and Abby flashed me a smile, "That's my girl."
"Abigail, you can't say things like that!" My eyes watched her as she drove calmly, feeling safe beside me.
"And why not?" She raised an eyebrow as she glanced at me with curiosity. And just like that, the flash of a second, Abby lost control of the car, more than a dozen scars on their horses interrupting her path, she swerved a long the icy path and the truck made it's way down a steep hill, "We're fucked!" I shouted as the truck made its way into a sea of white snow and leafless trees.
"Hold on tight." Abby shouted as she swerved trees as best as she could, until she couldn't anymore, the truck smashed right into one, and my vision went black.
